Experience Required:

You will need to have some experience of walking, trekking or hiking in other than normal pathways with very good status of physical soundness and fitness in order to undertake the Peaky Peak trek.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

A pre-trip meeting is a must and a part of our trekking endeavor before heading for it in order to get to know the team members for the trek and for any discussion of doubts and queries. It will be held in any place suitable as per time and condition but usually in our office in Kathmandu.

Equipment Check List:

Equipment are indeed the basic requirement for any activities including the trek. So one must keep the following equipment in their packing consideration without letting the weight exceed 20 kg;


For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Upper Body:-

As for the upper body’s shirts – Hiking and light weight thermal tops - Fleece jacket or pullover - Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional) - Waterproof shell jacket - Down vest and/or jacket - Base layer shirts - Warm jacket (down)*

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Trekking Bags: - Large bag for keeping items dry inside trek bag, Daypack 250 to 30litres. - Thermarest sleeping pad - Water bottles - Water purification tablets.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

On an usual day of trekking, you will be receiving your tea or coffee or any other item available as per your demand as a gesture of good morning which is then followed by the bag packing and preparing session as we will be heading for the day’s trekking endeavor. We will have lunch on the way and reach to our destination in the afternoon which might leave us with enough time for the exploration of that area to play any games or conduct other activities. We will have our dinner there on our final destination.


One mustn’t expect any kind of special accommodation facilities while on this trek and the lodging options are often quite limited with the nature of shared bathroom facilities which may not always be able to provide you an access to shower. There will be a warm fire place in most accommodations around which you can chill and keep yourself warm.


It is a requirement of Nepal Nomad’s Booking terms and conditions for you to be fully and properly insured in medical aspects, trip cancellation and emergency rescue evacuation aspects.

Altitude Sickness:

In higher elevations, altitude sickness is a known risk among the trekkers. So in order to tackle with it, there are acclimatization planning in our itinerary plan for which we sometimes even need a whole day. After arisal of symptoms like vomiting, nausea, headache, fever, chills, breathing problems and others, one is likely to have caught altitude sickness and for improvement, they are taken to lower altitudes. However, if the case gets serious, emergency rescue evacuation is conducted under your insurance policy.


In the aspect of meals, three meals are provided on the Pikey Peak trekking on full board basis among which the breakfast and dinner will be served in the same accommodation where you stay for the night and lunch is taken in one of the tea houses or lodges along the way.
