The Nagi Narchyang Eco trek takes us through the Narchyang, Nagi and Tatopani which marks the splendid ending of the trek to Beni of Myagdi. With the crest of an altitude of 3220 meter, Mohare Danda Trek- Nagi Narchyang hike is the blend of the Khopra ridge. It takes every grueling step to get there to see the beautiful sunrise over the Annapurna range. On various Nagi Narchyang Eco trek routes, you will encounter tiny villages of the Magar and the Gurung ethnicities. In this Nagi Narchyang Eco trip, you will be passing through the forests of bamboo and the rhododendrons which are likely to lead you towards the village terraces of the mohare danda trek. Annapurna being the eight tallest mountains on earth consists of beautiful Mohare Danda and Khopra crest magnificent peaks. Trekkers spend their first night of this trek at Banskharka village in Parbat district. It is a beautiful village with excellent home stay facilities. Dinner, however, is served at community-run dining hall. Situated at an altitude of 1,526 meters above sea level, Banskharka is a village filled with Magars as the largest ethnic group. Pine, rhododendron, Chilaune, Katus make up major vegetation in the village, while owls, Himali Kokale, Nyauli, Dundul, Syal Pothari, Lam Puchhre and Rani Chari are some of the bird species found here. Similarly, deer, Blue Sheep, fox and leopard are some of the mammals found in forests near this village. Nagi village situated at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level in Myagdi district is also famous for orange farming which is indeed the most popular attraction on this trail. Trekkers can reach Nagi for lunch after enjoying breakfast at Dandakateri of Parbat district. Locals have arranged community-based home stay facility or community-run lodges developed as per eco-friendly concept in all the villages along this route. This beautiful village of Nagi offers superb views of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV and V, Gurja Peak, Annapurna South, Baraha Himal and Nilgiri Himal among others. Baraha temple, organic farming and handmade paper production facility are the other attractions in Nagi. There is also a forest nursery in Nagi. The Nagi Narchyang Trekkers can also take part in the plantation which is indeed a joy to participate. Nagi and Tikot villages are also famous for the traditional Sorathi dance of Magars.

Similar to the poon hill trek, mohare danda altitude is about 3300 meters and within the 7 to 8 days of hike with normal speed, the trek can be combined with mohare danda khopra trek. If you add two more days, it goes to the Christibung from the Deurali hilltop leading to khopra danda trek. The Mohare danda weather is regarded best in the spring and autumn season which begins and end as; September- November and March- May respectively but it is still possible to do throughout the year. On the first day of your arrival, our representative with our office vehicle will be on a standby .After you are transferred to the hotel a pre-trek briefing on the trekking program and any last minute arrangements will schedules. You will get familiar to the surroundings as you go down the streets for a walk. Then a delicious local Nepali dinner will be served accompanied by cultural dance performed by the local belles.

On this particular day, we explore around Kathmandu City and visit to the two world heritage sites. This includes a visit to the Boudhanath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people and as the famous Hindu temple across the country where you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. In the early afternoon you can relax to your hotel or do last minute shopping. After breakfast, we drive from Kathmandu to Beni and to Galeshwor Bazaar which is roughly about 285 kilometer west from Kathmandu and takes roughly 9 hours drive. Galeshwor has its identity as a religious and cultural destination. Many pilgrims come to worship at Galeshwor Mahadev with great devotion. Stay overnight at guest house.

Drive 3 hours early in the morning by reserved transport from Pokhara to Galeshwor after breakfast and have a lunch at River Side Hotel. 3 to 4 hours walk after a lunch. This is a beautiful Magar village in the middle of orange farm crossed by streams. Banskharka has a long history of mandarins, oranges and honey production, which you might learn about and taste in your visit. Banskharka village is situated at 1526 M above the sea level. You should eat dinner and breakfast at community dinning and sleep at villagers' house. This one is the combination of lodge and home stay. Free WiFi at Community Dinning if the power is available.

Nangi village located at 2330m takes about 6 to 7 hrs, the environment at the Nangi community accommodation is clean and neat.Nangi village is the birth place of pioneer Mahabir Pun who is one of the concept creator of this model trek. This village has different Community Projects to generates income for community support and environment preservation like Fish Farming, Community based school, Shiitake mushroom farming, Handmade Lokta paper Making Project, Women's clinic and Forestry nursery.

It may take 8 hours walk from Nangi to Mohare Danda. Mohare Community Lodge stands above deep gorges and valleys on the verge of a steep ridge at 3360m. Here our spacious comfortable Mohare Community Lodge offers an exclusive and pristine view of a mountains range: Dhaulagiri range (Dhampus peak, Tukuche peak, Dhaulagiri-1, Dhaulagiri-2, Dhaulagiri-3, Dhaulagiri-4, Dhaulagiri-5 and Gurja peak even Phewa Lake), Annapurna range (Nilgiri south, Baraha Shikhar, Annapurna-1, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Annapurna-3, Gangapurna, Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail), Mardi Himal, Annapurna-4, Annapurna-2 and Lamjung Himal) and Manaslu range (Peak 29, Himalchuli, Gorkha himal, Bouddha Himal and Ganesh Himal). Dhaulagiri is the 7th and Annapurna is the 10th highest in the world. For the sunrise and sunset sight this is the beautiful and perfect place to be at.

Dandakharka community lodge being the quietest place on the track is in the middle of the beautiful Rhododendron forest passed by the spring streams. This place is worth a visit as you get to trek to the local buffalo farms on the trail. Dandakharka is located at 2820 meter and the walk up to there has the diversity of forest like the Rhododendron, pindrow and pinus.

Tikot is 6 hours walk from Dandakharka. You have to eat dinner and breakfast at Tikot Community Dining and go to villagers' home to sleep. It is situated at 2250 meter. One of the most beautiful villages in Nepal is Tikot that rests on one side of a smooth ridge in front of the Annapurna and right above the Kali Gandaki. The settlement of these villagers is Pun Magar village.

After 4 hours of walk out of the Tikot village, you will ascend and descend and reach at Khibang with an altitude of 2060 meters. The community tea farm and the typical Magar village is splendid.

It takes 3 hours walk passing the main touristy trail to Ghorepani. Swanta village is at 2270 M above the sea level. Standing at the bottom of the Annapurna South, along a green valley is the Swanta. Swanta is the perfect place to rest before trekking up to Khopra. Also, the community lodge offers some of the best food you might find in your visit to Nepal. You have hot shower facility in Swanta village.

You get there after 4 hours walk steep up the hill. There is Dhankharka Community Lodge. We should stop one night there because we should acclimatize ourselves. It is situated at 3026 meter above the sea level. If you want to take a hot shower, the lodges provide a hot bucket shower.

Unquestionably, the experience is out of the world in the Himalayas where you can get impressive views. Khopra is an isolated spot that literally stands on one side of Annapurna South at 3660m, above tree-line, higher than clouds and the planes that pass by between Pokhara and Jomsom. An astonishing village is situated by Kali Gandaki. In Narchyang you can find one of the most famous local Raksi breweries (a local alcohol drink made from millet). In addition, you can soak your tired body in the natural hot spring at Tatopani which has been used for hundreds of years for its medical value; it might be enjoyed all year round.

Today very early in the morning, we hike together to Poon Hill (3,232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m.), Tukuche Peak (6,920m.), Nilgiri (6,940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7,847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m.), Annapurna South (7,219m.), Annapurna III (7,855m.), Machhapuchhare (6,993m.), Annapurna IV (7,525m.), Annapurna II (7,937m.), Lamjung Himal (6,931m.) and other numerous snow-capped mountains in the morning then reach at the Nayapool and then to Pokhara for an overnight stay.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking as well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Trekking Bags: - Large bag for keeping items dry inside trek bag, Daypack 250 to 30litres. - Thermarest sleeping pad - Water bottles - Water purification tablets.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Nagi Narchyang Eco Trekking, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
