Ombigaichen Peak Climbing Route

The Ombigaichen Peak Trekking and Climbing takes us through the amazing AmaDablam Base camp at 4,576m leading our way to Ombigaichen base Camp at 5200m. Today, we will be catching an early morning flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. The flight is likely to last for about forty-five minutes which will indeed be a scenic and thrilling one. Then after the landing, we will be beginning our trek on the same day which will lead us to Phakding within three hours of walk.

On the fourth day, we will be making our way towards Namche Bazaar which is situated at an elevation of 3,440 meters. We will leave Phakding after early morning breakfast and make our way through various small villages and forests decorated with Rhododendrons, conifers, and pines. Similarly, we will be encountered with magical waterfalls and river streams. We will be staying in the hustling town of Namche Bazaar for the night.

Today, we will be taking a break from trekking and have some rest for acclimatization purposes. However, you can conduct short hikes around the town for strengthening your muscles.

From Namche Bazar, we will head towards our new destination on the sixth day of our amazing journey. We will be stretching forwards to reach the Tengboche monastery which is situated at an elevation of 3,860 meters. We will be moving down towards the Dudh Koshi River and make our way through the beautiful forest of oaks and conifers. As we reach the monastery, we will be surrounded by astounding mountain peaks like Ama Dablam and Thamserku. We will be staying overnight at Tengboche Monastery.

Today, we will be moving towards Ama Dablam Base Camp which is situated at an extreme elevation of 4600 meters. We will leave Tengboche Monastery after having an early morning breakfast which will give us all the required energy for the day’s challenges. We will be making our way through the village of Deboche and then further reach Minlingo. As we get closer towards the Ama Dablam Base Camp, we are likely to be stunned by the glorious views of Kantega and Ama Dablam itself. We will be staying overnight at Ama Dablam.

On the eighth day of our amazing climbing and trekking journey, we will be further moving towards Ombigaichen Base Camp situated at an elevation of 5200 meters. It is likely to take us about four hours to get there which is a shorter trekking period in comparison. We will be settling our tent around the Base Camp in a favorable area and then stay overnight at the Base Camp.

The ninth day has been prepared for acclimatization and resting purpose. Since we will be moving to a higher altitude in the upcoming days, this process is a must for any climbers. We will be practicing the use of gears and some climbing techniques today.

The tenth day has been provided for flexibility in the climbing plan as there can be certain occurrences of unforeseen circumstances. There can be harsh weather conditions causing the blockade of climbing paths or other unfavorable situations. Thus, if everything goes according to our plan, we need this day but however, in case of unpredictable circumstances, this day can be used.

On the eleventh day, we start ascending towards the high camp after having a warm breakfast at Ombigaichen Base Camp. We will be extending our steps toward an elevation of 5600 meters which is likely to take us four hours to reach. Then we will settle our camp and our climbing team will settle all the required equipment for climbing. We will be staying overnight at High Camp.

Today, we will be beginning the summit of Ombigaichen Peak very early in the morning to avoid any harsh weather and order to head back to the Base camp on time. Our climbing expert will lead your way and instruct you along the journey. It is indeed going to be a moment of pride and glory to stand on top of 6,340 meters of height which rewards you with the glorious views of mountains like Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and many others. Your incredible climbing achievement certainly deserves some celebration. Similarly, after our successful summit, we head back to the Base Camp and stay there for the night.

As a nomad, with adventure, there arises duty as well. It is indeed our duty to clean up the mess that we created while staying at the Base Camp. So we use this day to clean up the Base camp and pack all our stuff.

Today, we further descend towards Ama Dablam Base Camp from Ombigaichen Base Camp and start cleaning up our camping area. We will be drying up our clothes and gain backs some energy while on our stay at the Ama Dablam Base camp. We will have an overnight stay at the camp.

Our trekking journey is now inclining towards the end. Today, we will be heading back to Tengboche monastery and enjoy some warm Dinner. If we can, we will conduct some celebrations there and sleep with a heart full of pride and glory.

Today is the final day of our trek which we extend towards Lukla, the town where our trekking journey started. We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla in order to fly in proper weather conditions. But if everything goes according to plan, we will be enjoying a scenic and thrilling flight to Kathmandu. Then, our guide will escort you to your accommodation.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience and Insurance Required for Ombigaichen Peak Summit

A suitable degree of physical fitness and experience of mountain strolling is needed for the Ombigaichen Peak Climbing. An ordinary day in the Ombigaichen peak Climbing Journey

Your typical day starts with morning tea at 6.30 am your Sherpa. Please do not expect lodges to be good as there will be lots of absence of facilities due to its remoteness. You might also have to share bathrooms and may not have a chance to take a shower.

On Ombigaichen Peak Climbing, three meals on full board will be provided every day lunch, dinner, and breakfast will be provided in the lodge you spend overnight Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.

Responsible Travel and transportation condition in Ombigaichen Journey

Our journey shall not hamper any environment we step into whether natural or artificial. In that way, we will be conducting responsible travel. Likewise, we will be using airplanes to begin our trek and climb officially. However, helicopters can also be used if you wish to travel luxuriously.

Altitude Sickness in the Ombigaichen Peak Climbing Journey

We as members of the climbing team need to know the three major stages of altitude sickness which are; Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), and High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE). To tackle the risk bought by the elevations of the Himalayas, we shall conduct acclimatization, exercises, and other activities while keeping alert for the symptoms.

The permit requirements in order to conduct the Ombigaichen Climbing Expedition are as given: Trekker’s Information Management System card, Sagarmatha National Park Permit, Local Government’s permit along with the requirement of the Permit from Nepal Mountaineering Association.

In the Ombigaichen Peak Climbing Journey, as long as you are staying in the city, it won’t be big trouble for you to connect with your family and friends but in the higher Himalayan areas of the Everest region, the service won’t be easily available and regular communication might be difficult to conduct.
