We then during this trek, from the slate rooftops, terraced hillsides, Nepali hamlets and crops being dried on the terraces as well as sending out the prayers to the universe of the beautiful Buddhist prayer flags.

Welcome to Kathmandu! You are moved to the warmth of you hotel. On your routine a pre- trek briefing will be scheduled for the discussion of the trekking program and we co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. You can get accustomed with your surroundings by going for hike down the street. Then we head to the street for the delicious dinner where Nepalese Cuisine is prepared in Nepalese Style which is mainly known for its healthy ingredients. This is your first overnight in Kathmandu.

Today is day two where we head start with the fresh morning to the Indrachowk and Ason marketplaces where we can get the insights of the Nepalese traditional lifestyle. You can witness the local purchase and how people bargain in a market. Relish the vibrant environment that the local offers. Narrow alleys and the purchase of the smells will enchant you. The tour guide shall describe the procedures and the products.

We begin our travelling with the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar which is the Kathmandu Durbar Square and this is the place where the Nepali administrators and the royal family resided, This beautiful ancient is located at the Kathmandu’s heart which meet old complex palaces, courtyards from the 15th to the 18th century. The most respected places of the earth is the Kumari Bahal which is the three storied temple. In this house we can witness the living goddess where Kumari lives and during the Indra Jatrra, in a custom gilded chariot the Kumari is paraded around the square. Built in the 1549 AD, the tallest temple of the Kathmandu valley the “Taleju Bhawani” was built. This temple is known for being the astonishing work of art and is renowned as the royal goddess.

Built in the 16th century, Jagnath Temple is renowned for the carving which was erotic as well as the royal palace “Hanuman Dhoka” located in the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Near the Jagnnath temple lays the Kal Bhiarav which is known to be te destructor form of the Lord Shiva. The high stone statue is known for portraying the Kal Bhairab and was built during the 17th century and is about 10ft.

Rectangular in shape, there is a temple of the Shiva Parvati which enshrines the Nava Durga which is a group of the goddesses believed where there is a wooden image of the Parvati and the Shiva at the upper floor looking out at the passerby in the Durbar Square.


We then take a look around at the renowned monkey temple the “Swayambhunath” which is one of the ancient and religious architecture where the Buddhism and Hinduism faiths upon. Visible from the far and the wide, there lays the glorious golden spire. The aromatic fragrance and the enormous prayer wheels shall bring you to the tranquility.

We explore around Kathmandu City and visit world heritage sites. This includes a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people and as the famous Hindu temple across the country where you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. In the early afternoon you can relax to your hotel or do last minute shopping. From Kathmandu, we take an early flight to Pokhara after an early breakfast and get moved to the hotel. After relaxing and wandering around we will head to dine out at lake side restaurants (cost not included). We also can see the wonderful sights of the Himalayas from the Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare and the five peaks of the Annapurna’s and others.

With an early start we head towards the Seti River valley to hike towards the beginning point where we move to the Nayapul where we will meet our trekking crew and then with the brief information on the hike we then head towards the Birethati which is at the 3362 ft where the hike follows the crest at the Annapurna where we get to see the splendid sights of the Pokhara and the mountain valley. The road then head downwards to the Modi River where there is terraced farmland and the bamboo trees.

We will then trace the accommodation check in at the Bire

thati. Few miles from the Birethati village the lodge is located overlooking the Modi River. Set up with the familiar and the comfortable dining room and the sitting room with the beautiful garden, the lodge is typical Kerr and Downy set up. At the leisure time we will have our lunch.

After an early breakfast we go upwards to the Ghandruk village as we pass the oak and the rhododendron forests, following the path to Ghandruk. We reach at the Kimche for lunch and then ascend further to the oval shaped houses and streets of stones as we follow the ethnicity of the Gurungs and then reach at the accommodation of the Ghandruk. This village is one of the largest settlements in the area.

Out from the Ghandruk we then head downhill towards the banks of the Modi River passing the suspension bridge and then pass the mesmerizing waterfall where we move towards the Landruk. On the way, we relish the Annapurna range sights and then cross the cliffs where the hunters of honey as they ascend. Then after lunch we then rest at the lodge relishing the splendid sights of the peaks and then do some sightseeing tour in the village.

The trek today passes with an early breakfast as we hike towards the next designation of the farmlands and villages to the Annapurna views. It is a simple hike towards the Maigaon and then we arrive at the lodge where we get to see the splendid sights of the peaks from the room itself or spend some quality time at the garden. We also take a brief walk up to the village with the guide.

After an early breakfast, we head towards the trek where we pass through the forest of the rhododendron and oak as well as the silver birch as we see this majestic view of the Hiuchuli, Lamjung and the Annapurna South. The hike then arrives near the Pothana where we head down to the Dhampus. We then have some lunch and reach Phedi where we will drive to the Pokhara as a brief drive from the Phedi.

Today we head towards a ride to the Damauli where a brief ride along the road takes us there. We encounter the professional rafting crew who will give us info about the rafting and then reach at the Set River. The River has no road and then the surrounding is all floating down the hill as we get a chance to see the village along the banks and distinct birds where there is lunch at the picnic as we head to the camp. No longer than 165′ / 50m, way there are 2 small rapids of no more than grade 2. Today we will begin our morning with the rafting where there is no more than 165/50 meters, there are 5 class and 2 rapids. Depending on the water levels, rafting shall begin from 2 to 3 hours. We shall transfer by vehicle to the Chitwan on the completion of the rafting; Chitwan National Park is one of the large conservation area and is one of the world heritage sites with 30 species of tigers, one horned rhino, bird and the other animals.

In the early morning we head for the breakfast where we will stay at the hotel and then move to the airport where we land at the Kathmandu. You will be accompanied to your hotel and then one can explore around

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek as well as introduce you to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.


While at the Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.


Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining upper mustang trekking includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.


On Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.


One needs to be walking for the 5-7 hrs a day, one should not be that fit for the hike as this is not easy one. You should definitely be mentally and healthy fit for the trekking in this areas and it does not include skills of the mountaineering.

This trek is suitable ride for age group above 8 years, children can trek as there is no age limitation. For the long period of time, there can be an altitude sickness, however for children fewer than 8 can have high time for trekking.

While trekking/ travelling, is there a need for the travel insurance?

Extra luggage is not required for this trek, but as much as clothes you want, you can trek in the Pokhara or the Kathmandu’s hotel. For this hike one can carry camera, water bottle and the clothes in the backpack.

Extra duffle bag clothes can be carried by the potter who can weigh up to about 15- 30 kg and a camping porter up to the 30kg. Maximum of 18kg per person is allowed on the local domestic flights

One will get evacuated by the helicopter to the Kathmandu, in case of the emergency. One should take proper care of your health. Along the hike, one will find small clinics. At Chitwan, Pokhara and Kathmandu, there are major hospitals. Nepal Nomad Team will provide first aid box in case of emergency and you can bring your medicine.
