Locally known as the Urkema Peak, Baden Powell Peak with an altitude of the 5718m was renowned as the Lord Baden Powell Peak Climbing in the 2007. Lord Baden Powell Peak is located in the Langtang region and is basically a mushroom shaped mountain. We can get the mesmerizing sight of the Himalays where we reach at the Dhunche from the peaks like Annapurnas, Ganesh, Manaslu and the other Langtang peaks. We then reach at the Syabru besi. In the early morning after a breakfast we shall head to the main road of the Syabru Besi where there is crest as we reach to the Ghopcha Khola we can see the dense forests of the plants like the alder, bamboo, oaks and maple where we can see on the trail. We then reach to the Lama Hotel from the Syabru Besi where we stay for an overnight. Today after an early breakfast we proceed with our hike to the village of the Langtang via the Ghora Tabela where the path emerges from the forest. One can witness the local birds and the monkeys on the way. We then head towards the Kyangjin Gompa. As we pass this beautiful monastery we then reach at the BP base camp. One can have the amazing sights of the Shishapangma, Langshisha Ri, Lirung and the Langtang. We begin our hike with the attempt to summit to the Baden Powell South Peak around the midnight. In the start we shall pass the field which is rocky. With the snowy degree slope on the Glacier Peak we then head zig zag where we shall aim to the rock face of the west. We can ultimately see the close up sight of the peaks like the Naya Kanga, Ganesh Himal on the clear day. On the first day of your arrival, our representative with our office vehicle will be on a standby .After you are transferred to the hotel a pre-trek briefing on the trekking program and any last minute arrangements will schedules. You will get familiar to the surroundings as you go down the streets for a walk. Then a delicious local Nepali dinner will be served accompanied by cultural dance performed by the local belles.

On this particular day, we explore around Kathmandu City and visit to the two world heritage sites. This includes a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people and as the famous Hindu temple across the country where you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. In the early afternoon you can relax to your hotel or do last minute shopping. After an early breakfast in the morning we head for a half an hour drive to the Kakani where the camp and the Nepal Scouts Training centre is located which has the area of the 359 ropanis. The land was given by the King of Nepal in 1988 to Nepal Scouts. Training on the PTC, BTC, Advance, and CALT is given to the Scouts. Supplementing to that we shall venue is placed for the distinct programs and events. We will stay for an overnight at the Hotel.

It takes about 5 hrs to reach to the Lama Hotel where in the beginning we pass through the Bhote Koshi River following the Langtang Khola. The path then progressively ascends to the Bamboo. Based on the bank of the Langtang Khola, we hike towards the Rimche and have afternoon lunch at the accommodation. After trekking for about 45 mins from the Rimche we ultimately reach at the Lama Hotel and stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

The path is very direct today after travelling for about 2 hrs, we finally arrive at the Gomna passing the oak forest and rhododendron and from there we will take a walk with the uphill path to the designation of the Ghodatabela in about an hour. Then we pass to the Thangsep village which has mostly Tamang natives and we will then reach at the Langtang village where we will stay for an overnight at the accommodation at the Langtang.

Out from the Langtang village, we will head to the Kyanjin Gompa today and it takes about 3 hrs to reach there. From the Kyangjing Gompa we get to see the beautiful sight of the Langtang mountain range which comprise of the Langtang Lirung, Naya Khang, Ghanjala Himal etc. We will be staying on an overnight at the accommodation.

On the seventh day of the trek, we will be hiking around the small peak situated at an elevation of 4500 meters. We will be encountering the jaw dropping views of sunrise over the Himalayas and get the proper view of the incredible Langtang valley. We will be moving past the beautiful monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and the rest of the time, we will be resting for acclimatization purpose. We will be staying overnight here at Kyanji Gompa surrounded by the majestic peaks like Langtang Ri, 7,205m, Dorje Lakpa, 6,966m, and many more.

Today, we will be using the day for ascending of Tseko Ri at an altitude of 4844 meters. This will be our second day used for the acclimatization purpose. This hike to Tseko Ri rewards us with the amazing scenario of the Langtang Himalayas. Enjoying the incredible views of snowcapped mountain peaks like Yala Peak, 5,510 meters, Shisha Pangma, 8,013 meters and many other peaks, we will be heading back to Kyanjin Gompa.

From Kyanjin Gompa, we will finally be heading towards Baden Powell Peak Base Camp which is situated at an elevation of 4987 meters. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach there. We will be making our way through the beautiful forest filled with rhododendrons. Various rocky trails are certain to fall on the way. We will be staying overnight on our camp at Baden Powell Peak Base Camp.

After an early breakfast we then retrace our way back to the KyangjingGompa as we then descend to the spectacular sight of the peaks like the Shisapnagma, Langtang, Langshisha Ri and the Lirung where we will stay for an overnight here.

Out from the Kyangjin, we head towards the Lama Hotel where we shall head to following the steps of the Langtang Khola to the Langtang village, on our way to the Ghora Tabela, where will stay for the lunch and then proceed with the descend to the Lama Hotel. We will stay for an overnight at the Lama Hotel.

For the panoramic views of the green hills and the mountains, we shall head to the path which is more beautiful and the trail remains mesmerizing and broader through the village’s o the Sherpa and the Tamang. The beginning part of the hike remains by descending to the Syabru Besi. The main resident is the community of the Tamang with the Tibetan lifestyle. We shall stay for an overnight here,

After an early breakfast, we shall begin our drive to the Kathmandu where we can relish the green sceneries with the vast foothills and the splendid vistas on the way to the Kathmandu. We shall drive to the Trishuli Bazaar which has bumpy road and then gravel well. We then access towards the well paved road to the Kathmandu and stay for an overnight.

The journey has come to an end with the peak climbing of the Baden Powell Scout as our head will move you to the international airport which takes about 3 hours just before the flight that is scheduled.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Baden Powell Peak Climbing. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak. Altitude may range up to 5000 meters.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to the Baden Powell Peak Climbing., we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your the Baden Powell Peak Climbing. as well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Baden Powell Peak Climbing, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Baden Powell Peak Climbing tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Baden Powell Peak Climbing includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Baden Powell Peak Climbing is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Baden Powell Peak Climbing, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
