Bokta Peak Climbing Trip

We will be beginning the Bokta Peak Trek from Taplejung at 1,442m which will lead us to the Bokta Peak High Camp at 5,720m, with intervals of various days in between. Our actual climb begins from the High Camp which will lead us to the top of 6,143 meters with the help of the Nepal nomad’s climbing expert. But before the summit, we will be crossing various rivers, and suspension bridges pass like Mirgin La Pass situated at an elevation of 4,480 meters, and have encounters with magical waterfalls, fluttering prayer flags, and generous mountain people. Today, after arriving in Nepal, we will be there to pick you up and also transfer you to your inn. After you have some refreshment we will schedule a meeting to discuss further details of trekking. The meeting can be done at lunch and also at dinner time.

Today, we will utilize our day by strolling around the heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley. On the fourth day, we will leave Taplejung after having a wonderful breakfast and extend our steps towards Mitlung which stands at an elevation of 920 meters. We will be making our way through farm fields and crossing the gracious Tamur River with the help of a suspension bridge. We will be reaching the beautiful village of Mitlung after walking for about six hours. We will stay at Mitlung for the night.

Today, we head for Chiruwa from Mitlung. Along the way, we will have various encounters with pretty tiny villages like the Sinwa Village. We will be reaching Chiruwa situated at an elevation of 1,270 meters after walking for about four to five hours. We will be staying overnight at Chiruwa.

The sixth day leads us to Sekathum from Chiruwa. Today, we will be walking through beautiful grasslands where yaks can often be seen to be grazing. We will observe the valley broadening as we extend our steps further toward Sekathum. We will be crossing the Tamur River which will bring us close to our destination. After walking for about five to six hours from Chiruwa, we will finally reach Sekathum where we will be staying for the night.

Today, Amjilosa will be our destination where we will be resting for the night. We will be heading for an elevation of 2,308 meters which is likely to take us about five to six hours to reach. We will be following a zig-zag path towards Amjilosa which is led to us by the crossing of various uphill and downhill paths. Within six hours of the total walk, we will arrive at Amjilosa.

On the eighth day, we will leave for Gyabla which is situated at an elevation of 2,730 meters. We will energize ourselves with the early morning breakfast at Amjilosa and then walk for about six to seven hours to reach Gyabla. We will be making our way through a deep and dense forest blooming with rhododendrons. Gyabla is a Tibetan settlement where we will be staying for the night.

On the ninth day, we will leave Gyabla and head for Ghunsa after having our early morning breakfast. We will be extending our steps towards an elevation of 3,550 meters which is likely to take us about five to six hours to reach. The valley starts widening, the more we get closer to Ghunsa. We will be staying overnight at Ghunsa.

We will stop our trek for the day and rest at Ghunsa. We have undertaken a long walk until now and we probably need some rest which is for acclimatization purposes as well. We can use the day for exploring or hiking around Ghunsa.

On the eleventh day, after being acclimatized, we head for Khambachen which is situated at an elevation of 4,050 meters. We will be crossing the bridge in Rampuk Kharka along the way and get encountered various waterfalls. We will be making our way through the landslide-affected areas and at that point, we need to be careful.

Lhonak is our destination for the day which is situated at an elevation of 4,780 meters. We will leave Khambachen after having an early morning breakfast. We will be moving through a slippery trail today, so we need to be very careful with that. We will make our way through various grazing fields where yaks can often be seen grazing.

On the thirteenth day, we will be staying at Lhonak for the night. However, we will hike towards the Pangpema viewpoint standing at an elevation of 5,388 meters. After reaching Pangpema, the process of which can be a little tiring, we will be gratified by the gorgeous views of mystical landscapes and mountain peaks like Kirat Chulim, Chang Himal, and some others amazing peaks.

On the fourteenth day, we head towards Ghunsa after a warm breakfast at Lhonak. We will be descending downhill towards Ramtang and then continue our trek towards Ghunsa. We will be staying overnight at Ghunsa.

Today, we will be leaving Ghunsa for Sele La Base camp situated at an elevation of 4200 meters. Slowly and gradually, we are getting closer to the summiting day of Bokta Peak. We will be making our way through the beautiful forest of rhododendron, pines, oaks, and conifers. We will be staying overnight at Sele La Base Camp.

On the sixteenth day, we will be making our way towards Cheram which will take us about three to four hours of walk from the base camp. We will be crossing the incredible Mirgin La Pass and Sele La Pass situated at 4,480m and 4,730m respectively. We will be staying overnight at Cheram.

Today, Ramche is going to be our destination which is situated at an elevation of 4,580 meters. Yalung Base Camp will be our camping destination for the day, which we will be reached after walking for about four to five hours. We will leave Ramche after early morning breakfast and head towards an elevation of 4500 meters. It won’t be a long day of trekking, but rather a short one. We will be staying in our tent camp for the night.

On the nineteenth day, we will be leaving Yalung Base Camp and heading for Bokta Peak Base Camp situated at an elevation of 5,123 meters. We will be making our way through slippery trails today, so it is very much required to be careful while walking. Today can be a little challenging as the ascent can be tiring but still, the day is going to be an exciting one. We will be staying overnight in our tented camp at Bokta Peak Base Camp.

Today, we will be staying at the Base camp and carrying out some training regarding the climb. After proper rest and acclimatization, we will further be heading towards the High Camp which is situated at an elevation of 5,720 meters. It won’t be a long trek, however, a short hike lasting for about three to four hours. Our team will settle the climbing equipment for the next day’s climb and we will be resting overnight in our tented camp.

On the twenty-first day, we will finally be climbing the astounding Bokta Peak, standing proudly at an altitude of 6,143 meters. We will begin the summit very early in the morning in order to avoid any harsh weather and have enough time on our hands to descend back to the Base Camp. We will be following the instructions and guidance of our climbing expert who will lead the way. It is indeed going to be magical to be standing on top of the Bokta Peak surrounded by magical peaks like Dhormo, Kumbhakarna, Nupche, and some others. On the same day, we will be heading back to the Base Camp for our overnight stay.

From the Bokta Peak Base camp, we will further descend down to Yalung Base Camp situated at an elevation of 4500 meters which is likely to take us about four to five hours of walk. We will be retracing the steps which we took to summit Bokta Peak. Today’s walk needs to be carefully taken as the path might be covered in snow and slippery. We will be staying overnight in our tented camp.

Today, we will have our early morning breakfast at Yalung Base Camp and then head towards Tortong which is situated at an altitude of 2,995 meters. We will be moving through the dense forest filled with the beautiful scent of wilderness. The village is situated near the Simbuwa River where we will be staying for the night.

On the twenty-fourth day, we will be descending downhill towards Yamphudin which is situated at an elevation of 2,080 meters. Today, we will be crossing the Simbuwa River through a wooden bridge which will further lead us towards LasiyaBhanjyang. Then, we will be reaching Yamphudin within six hours of walking from Torteng. We will be staying overnight at Yamphudin.

We are slowly coming to the end of our incredible climbing adventure. We will be moving further towards Ksesuwa from Mamangkhe which is likely to take us about five to six hours of walk. Along the way, we will be encountered with the village of Phonpe and then with various magical waterfalls. We will stay in the beautiful village of Ksesuwa for the night.

We will be then led to the beautiful valley of Kabeli which will lead us further to LaliKharka where we will be staying for the night.

Experience and Insurance Required for Bokta Peak Climb

Your body should be fit and a fine physical experience of mountain walking is required for the Everest Bokta Peak Climb. Peak climbing is not as simple as we think, there are many challenges that you will need to overcome so one should be mentally prepared for it.

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Bokta Peak Climb include that you must be fully insured with medical, and emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance.

Pre - Trip Meeting before Bokta Peak Climbing

Before going on the Bokta Peak climbing, we will organize a meeting where all the members will gather to introduce each other and discuss more details about the climbing.

A Day in the Bokta Peak Climbing Venture

Your early morning tea is going to be served by your Sherpa at 6:30 am. Once having breakfast you must be able to get ready for trekking. Your trekking time is going to be from 3 hours to four hours till you'll stop for lunch. For lunch, the period of time is going to be one hour. After lunch, you'll continue your walk for the next 2 to a few hours associated stop in the evening for a nightlong keep.

Accommodation and meals in the Bokta Peak Climb Journey

There will not be lots of lodges due to rural areas and it’s hard to maintain all the facilities. Our company will make sure to get everything done in a good way and also reserves the lodges that have a family feeling and cozy fireplaces. Sometimes you may not have a chance to shower and should also use your own sleeping bag. On Bokta Peak Climb, three meals on a full board basis will be provided at every lodge where you will reside.

Altitude Sickness in the Bokta Peak Climbing Journey

We need to remain aware of the risk of sickness from Altitude in the Bokta Peak Climbing Journey which can take its form in three stages; Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), and High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE). We shall be using the acclimatization days in the itinerary to cope with the challenge through hiking activities and exercises.

  • The requirements for permits in order to conduct the Bokta Peak Climbing Adventure are Trekker’s Information Management System card, Kanchenjunga National Park Permit, Kanchenjunga Government’s permit as well as the Permit of the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

  • While you are on the Bokta Peak Climbing Venture, you can very easily establish a connection with your family and friends as long as you are in the city area but as soon as you enter the higher Himalayan areas, regular communication might be difficult to conduct.
