Welcome to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. You may arrive at Kathmandu at any time, day or night. One of our office’s men will be waiting for you at the airport with the office vehicle and will take the responsibility to transfer you to your hotel. After your refreshment you will be picked from your hotel and driven to our office located to Thamel where the pre- trek briefing will be discussed, and you will be officially introduced to our trekking guide. We will explain you every details and the documents that will be needed so that we can organize permits required for your trek.

The day begins with an early breakfast with a guided trip to the capital city Kathmandu. The attractions in Kathmandu is sacred and historical where the landmarks estimated world heritage sites that includes the holy Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the ancient Durbar Square, the famous Monkey Temple and place of peace also known as Boudhanath. During afternoon we take a pre-trip preparation and discuss as well as get together with our trek guide and additional team members. Today we will pick you from your hotel and drive you to the airport to catch the flight to Lukla located on the south of the entrance of the Sagarmatha National Park and Mount Everest Region. The flight only takes about thirty minutes to reach the destination. Once we reach Lukla, all your packs and equipment will be organized. We will begin your trek with the walk northwards along crossing the bridge and the Dudh Koshi River Valley to the town of Phakding. The beautiful landscapes and the breathtaking view of Mount Kondge and Kusum Kanguru along with the Monasteries on the way are the main highlight of the day.

From Phakding, the first three hours of the walk will be similar as the first day. We willpass across the river, the Himalayan forest of rhododendron and pines heading up to the Monjo village and through to the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. Our guide will arrange all the necessary permits that are required to enter the park. After entering the park, the next three hours will be harder than the first three hours, which leads us to the couples of suspension bridge crossing the altitude of 3440m to the Namche Bazaar. After reaching Namche Bazaar we can see the first view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku and other beautiful scenery of mountains.

Since you will presently be at significant altitude, we take a day off from trekking. Today, we trek from Khumjung and head towards Dole. The path climbs steeply out of valley through rhododendron backwoods; juniper and enormous conifers begin to show up as the rise builds making the trekking lovely in spring. The path goes through Yak Kharkas and summer settlements. The perspectives on Khumbi La and Tawache are radiant for the duration of the day.

After having early morning breakfast, we trek to Cholatse Base Camp. Along the way we pass through beautiful forests and an amazing all encompassing perspective all in all Khumbu Himalayas. We will also pass through thore. By lunch time we will reach at Base Camp. After reaching the base camp we will rest for a while and explore the surrounding of Base Camp. Overnight at Base Camp.

Today we will spend our day resting in Base Camp. We will enjoy the beautiful views of Himalayas from the base camp. In order to be prepared for the upcoming challenges with the change of altitude, we will certainly need some break to energize ourselves. But our Sherpa team and Camp fixing team goes to Camp I to fix and prepare all the Camps. We will seize this opportunity to explore the places around the base camp.

Today after early morning breakfast we will ascend from Base Camp to Camp I. The whole course is fixed, and climbers will be associated with this rope by means of jumar and sling as they cross fourth and fifth class rock around gendarmes and up towers. It can prove to a little tiring but equally worth it. Today our Sherpa team will go to Camp II for the further managements of camps in Camp II.

We will descend back to Base camp from Camp I. Also the camp fixing team who went to Camp II for preparation of camp will descend back to the base camp. After arriving in base camp we will rest for a while and explore the surroundings.

On our sixteenth day, we will be moving to Camp 1 as we begin for pushing towards the summit. It can prove to a little tiring but equally worth it.

The main summit group will start their summit endeavor, moving to Camp 2. The moving from Camp I - Camp II is probably the most energizing stone hopping on the course. Today we trek from Base camp to Phortse . In transit, one can explore wild creatures like mountain goat, musk deer and numerous types of himalayan birds. There are religious communities too at Pangboche and Phortse which were accepted to have been developed during the sixteenth century. The Pangboche town has additionally picked up its fame for most elevated settlement on earth.

After breakfast, trek heads from Phortse (3750m.) to Namche Bazaar (3440m.) town. The path here dives form here and climbs up steeply for just about one hour to Mongla (4000m.). Today, it’s only a brief walk along the valley before we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla. Most flights from Lukla to Kathmandu are schedule early morning to avoid the strong winds. It’s a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu for about thirty five to forty-five minutes. We touch down at Kathmandu and transferred to our hotel. But please note, sometimes the flight can be delayed or canceled in the mountain regions of this type due to inclement weather and other unpredictable reasons beyond our control.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Cholatse peak Climbing Trek. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak. Altitude may range up to 5000 meters.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Cholatse Peak climbing Trek, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Cholatse Peak climbing Trek as well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipment’s check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Feet: - lightweight thin inner socks - Thick, warm wool hiking socks - Hiking boots with spare laces - Camp shoes – Gaiters (optional)

Upper Body:-

As for the upper body’s shirts – Hiking and light weight thermal tops - Fleece jacket or pullover - Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional) - Waterproof shell jacket - Down vest and/or jacket - Base layer shirts - Warm jacket (down)*

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the overnight. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well-deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Cholatse Peak climbing Trek, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Cholatse Peak climbing Trek tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Cholatse Peak climbing Trek includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Cholatse Peak climbing Trek is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Cholatse Peak climbing Trek, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
