One of the most mesmerizing and popular trekking peaks is Chulu West Peak Climbing, with an altitude of 6419m offers the best view with awe- inspiring outlook and the minor peaks which embraces the beauty of the Annapurna Himalayan enchants. Welcome to Kathmandu! You are moved to the warmth of you hotel. On your routine a pre- trek briefing will be scheduled for the discussion of the trekking program and we co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. You can get accustomed with your surroundings by going for hike down the street. Then we head to the street for the delicious dinner where Nepalese Cuisine is prepared in Nepalese Style which is mainly known for its healthy ingredients. This is your first overnight in Kathmandu.

Using Kathmandu as your home, take a day trip and explore around on an organized sightseeing tour to world heritage sites including a visit to an ancient and beautiful Bodhnath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people identified as the famous Hindu temple across the country.

Here, we will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is open to all the citizens of Nepal that begins with royalty to the simple man on the street. The same afternoon you will be free to relax to hotel garden or take a visit Thamel for some last minute shopping. Later, trek departure information will be provided.

We initiate our trek before we depart for the drive to Dharapani from Kathmandu. With the gorgeous mountain sight of Manaslu and the Ganesh ranges, the drive is commendable. The terraced hillside and the white rivers of Trisuli are unquestionably very mesmerizing. On the venture, you will get a packed lunch and meet the trekking crew where you are free to relish the road head village. From the accommodation, the sight of LamjungHimal (6931) is beautiful which dominates the skyline.

Through the pine forest and fir, the valley is extended towards the westward. We arrive at Bagarchap (2160m) after half an hour to the first village of the hike where the architecture is quite Tibetan. For the preparation of the hard and long winters the firewood are stacked on the roofs. Between the higher dry arid areas and the lower wet valleys the village marks the transition of the Manang Valley. The beauty of Himalayas like Annapurna II (7937m), and Annapurna III (7555m) and the Lamjung valley comes closer to the valley. Magnificently to the skies, the peaks like Peak 29 and Manaslu soars higher. Out from the Bagarchap we cross the wooden bridge and then climb up hill to Laatamarang (2360m) where we rest for the cold drink. The path proceeds to the police check post at Koto which is near from Chame (2685m). Facilities like bank, health post and hotels as well as the wireless station are available.

To reach the apple orchard of the Brathang (2840m), a former tibetan settlements of Khampa, we hike to the fields of buckwheat and barley in the morning. We will then have our lunch before we cross to the river into the forest fir, we will have a sight of Annapurna and Lamjung which towers the path. We then get to see the huge slabs of PaungdaDanda (1500m) after spending some time in the forest. To arrive at the flat roofed stone houses of the Pisang Village (3300m), precede our hike. With the sight of the gorgeous Pisang Peak (6091m) and Annapurna || we stay at our accommodation and bunk our night here.

Through the Pisang Village, we go on our path to the wooden irrigation canals which are a sign of the arid trans- Himalayan terrain. Here the soil is poor and only one crop per year of barley, wheat, buckwheat or potatoes can be grown. To supplement their living, many locals run hotels and teahouses as well as having herds of goats and yaks that graze on the hillsides high above the valley. There is one steep ascending to saddle down to the airstrip at Hongde but beside that the walking is easy. During the afternoon, we walk along the valley to Braga (3475m) which is perched high on the cliff valleys and the houses are stacked to the top of each other. Estimated to be over 500 years, above the house there is monastery. It is a short walk to reach at Manang from the Braga village

Set amongst impressive scenery, Manang is a tight compact village of 500 flat roofed houses. With Tilicho (7132m), RocNoir (7485m) and the Grand Barrier to the west, Annapurna II and Annapurna IV (7525m) tower dramatically above the valley floor to the south-east. Behind the village s the hauntingly beautiful panorama of Eat (6200m) and Chu lu west (6630m) lies. The remaining days isbuilt for adjustment and we can choose to either trek or rest to see the beautiful sights of Annapurna. On the craggy higher slopes we may see Blue Sheep and elusive mountain goats.

In the early morning we progressively move to Tengi.Here we branch away from the Marshyangdi valley and follow the Jar sang Khola. Sparse fir and pine is replaced by scrub juniper and grasses as we pass a few small yak herder ''shelters'' before stopping at the pleasant meadow of Ledar. Taken at a slow pace to allow for the effects of altitude, today is a pretty cool hiking day

We will progressively ascend to the Base Camp with an astounding sight of the mountains and hills where we will spend our night at the basecamp.

We will stay at the base camp for the proper acclimatization where we will explore the spectacular surrounding and the picturesque village and the beautiful hill to accompany us throughout the journey and will stay for an overnight.

Out from the Base Camp today we will ascend to the Chulu East Summit. It will be very fun to see the scenic panorama of the beautiful mountains that surrounds us. We will trek to the High Camp then to the Chulu East Peak which has an altitude for about 5140m and trek there for about 5hrs to arrive at the primary trail and finally rest there.

Out from the base camp, we head to the picturesque village of Manang. As we descend down to the Manang we reach here with all the beautiful Himalayas that surround us and the lush forest that accompany us with open arms where we meet friendly locals smiling us.

Though the pass poses no technical problems we need to start very early, around 3am, so we can proceed slowly and safely. The trail is not steep, and the long, gradual approach crosses several false summits before reaching some stone cairns marking the true crest of the pass at 5416m. In fine conditions, the views from the pass are truly awesome offering an amazing panorama of the Annapurna, Mukut and Mustang ranges with the Kali Gandaki valley seen far below.

Compensated with the sight of Tukche Peak (6920m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) the descent from the pass is steep. After a lengthy walk in the afternoon we reach at the village of Muktinath which is sacred sites for Buddhist and Hindus. The monastery is worth visiting and 108 waterspouts of the pagoda temple seem cool. Small spring emerging from the rock and burning of the natural gas can be found in one of the temple. An auspicious religious blend of main elements being water and fire is known for this.

Back-dropped by sensational views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri (7061m), passing through the village of Jharkot, the trail descends towards the Kali Gandaki Valley from Muktinath. The geography around Jharkot is barren, yellow, patches of the green cultivation with moonlike landscape where there is irrigation of fruit trees and crops in the manmade canals across the fields. We then reach at the lunch stop at Eklaibhati of the Kali Gandaki Valley after a short descent. We reach to the Jomsom after following the river heading south.

From Jomsom, we take an early flight to Pokhara after an early breakfast and get moved to the hotel. After relaxing and wandering around we will head to dine out at lake side restaurants (cost not included).

On day 19, we get up early in the morning to be ready for the arrival of your aircraft for the flight back to Katmandu. We will meet at the airport and shall be transferred to hotel. Please remark, our flight will be subject to good weather for the sake of our overall safety.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Chulu West Peak ClimbingTrek. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak. Altitude may range up to 5000 meters.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Chulu West Peak Climbing Trek, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Chulu East Peak Climbing Trekas well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipment’s check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the overnight. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well-deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Chulu West Peak Climbing Trek, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Chulu West Peak Climbing Trektend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Chulu West Peak Climbing Trekincludes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Chulu West Peak Climbing Trekis designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Chulu West Peak Climbing Trek, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
