On day 3, in the early morning we take the fantastic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla at 2827m. Built by Sir Edmund Hillary and the Sherpa’s in the mid-1960s, the flight time is about 40 minutes to the airstrip. This flight of true vision in space gives you box office views of some of the highest mountains in the world, right from the window of your plane. About 60 meters of difference is seen between the two airstrips where the landing field at the Lukla is at high altitude. Out from the Lukla we hike to the beautiful Phakding where with the lush green settings and thrilling view of the Kusum Kangraru will surely stun you.

From Phakding, we trek for Namache Bazaar for an estimated of six hours or less on the fourth day of the trip. Situated at an elevation of 3,440 meters, Namche Bazaar awaits us with its hustling nature as a small town and as a trade way with Tibet.

We spend another night at Namche on the very fifth day as we return back after an amazing hike to Everest View Hotel situated at 3,880 meters which will mesmerize us with the glorifying views of mountains like Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Everest and others.

In the early morning after a steep and brief climb, we bid goodbye to Namche and advance our trail to Everest. After passing through the several villages, we come across the Dudh Koshi River which is on a suspension bridge located at Phunki Thanga before we start ascending for about 2 hours up to the monastery. The trail is timbered by pine and rhododendron which is well dimmed. The ambient of the Tengboche monastery is dazzling and you will feel incredible thinking only a few years ago this was burnt down but with the efforts of the Sir Edmund Hillary Trust, the temple is built back remarkably. Every day at 3pm, monks shall make prayers and it is remarkable experience to watch this ceremony at Tengboche. The spectacular views of the peaks like the Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam and the other peaks shall entirely allure you.

We hike towards the Dingboche where the altitude is about the 4410m as we go downhill passing through the traverse Imja River and the stunning woods as we move away from the Tengboche. As we move to the Imja we hike through the picturesque village of the Pangboche village which lies at the altitude of the 3900m. The amazing sight like the Lhotse and the Ama Dablam shall mesmerize you. As we reach at the Dingboche by passing through the pastures we shall see the beauty of this place. Dingboche is also called as the summer valley.

Today is a different day for the acclimatization at the place where we get used to with the elevation. Today we hike towards the Nagarjun which is at the altitude of the 5100m where the on the edges of the Chhukung valley lies the Dingboche. The path becomes steep as we walk on the trail on occasions by making the trek more challenging. One can witness the gorgeous sights peaks like the Thamserku, Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega Ama Dablam and the Taboche Peaks from the Nagarjun valley. If it is a clear day one is sure to witness one of the fifth highest mountains, Makalu. We then head back to the Dingboche where we stay for an overnight.

Today our goal is to trek to the Lobuche which take about 5 hours from the Dingboche. Along the path we can see wide valley as we come across the Trekkers Aid Post which is located at the Pheriche at the altitude of the 4240m where treatment is offered to the western volunteers. We will then continue with our trek and then head to the yak pastures before arriving at the Lobuche.

Today we hike towards the Everest Base Camp which is one of the significant days of the hike. We shall encounter brief way up through the meadows and then descend at the Khumbhu Glacier. The complete sight of the southern face of the Mt. Everest can be seen through Kala Pathar where we get to see the adjoining peaks. After few more hours we then shall arrive at the Gorakshep and then make our way to the Everest Base Camp. To get to the base camp we shall have to walk on the falling and the rising path where after we reach at the camp we can witness this majestic sight of the Khumbu Glacier icefall. You will totally be enthralled by the view from the Everest Base Camp.

Today is one of the important days of the hike as we begin our trek early in the morning where we get to see the beautiful sunrise from the Kalapattar which is at the altitude of the 5545m. This is definitely one of the greatest viewpoints for the majestic Himalayan range and the highest peak Everest. We will then head back to the Gorakshep where after completing the breakfast, we shall experience the comfiest Helicopter ride to head back to the Kathmandu.
