The first day brings you landing on a valley situated at 1300m known to be called Kathmandu. Our team member will be eagerly ready to receive you and make your safe arrival to the booked accommodation. Later, you will be joining us for an amazing dinner and a pre-trip meeting.

The second day heads you out of your accommodation in Kathmandu to a beautiful outing in the city filled with wonders to be known, understood and explored. You will be taken for exploration of heritages to arts by our guide. Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and some others will be on the list of the places which you will be visiting.

We will have a choice to travel by a jeep or a local bus. It will be taking us about nine hours to make it through the path all the way to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu in a bus while seven hours or more through the Jeep. In any ways comfortable, we will reach Syabrubesi and stay the night there.

We will be leaving for Lama Hotel which will take us around five hours from Syabru Besi as we trek through the paths directed by Langtang Khola. We have our lunch somewhere in the middle and again head for an elevation of 2,748 meters.

We won’t be going through much hardships on the fifth day as the path gets mostly plain after walking for about two hours from the Lama Hotel. We head for 3500 meters where Langtang Village is situated at and enjoy our remaining time there until next morning.

Day six takes us to Kyanjing Gompa at 3800 meters which is indeed a spectacular spot to enjoy the views of scenarios of Langtang Himalayan range. Within four hours we will get there from Lantang Village and stay the night.

On the seventh day we rest, explore and acclimatize at Kyanjing Gompa. You can conduct some hikes as well to the nearest areas as a form of exercise.

On our path, we cannot see any lodge and people’s residence on the path. The path ascends higher into the Himalayas which is comprised with the natural vegetation. Today is easy trekking compared to others and we trek for about 6 hrs and then see the pure natural beauty and the thrilling peaks. We will stay for an overnight at the camp

Today is will undoubtedly be an exhausting day to pass the Ganja La Pass which is over the 5200 meters. Throughout the years, Ganja La Pass is covered with the entire ice and snow in the most times. You must be fit enough to carry water, must be well equipped and stock yourself with the energetic foods. Before the sun gets too high we cross the Ganja La Pass in the early morning to start. You have to make sure to breathe and are unquestionably the challenging trekking days which is about 9 hrs to 16km. The trail then goes downhill to the stream and we ultimately arrive at the Keldang (4280m) where we will stay for an overnight at the camp.

With the spectacular sight of the mountains, lengthy walk along the crest, grassland we take a walk about 7 hrs to Dukpu where we will set our camp and stay for an overnight.

Today we ascend up to the 4100 meter pass. We are surrounded by the beauty of the Everest Mountains and the Annapurna Region as well as the other mountain regions. The path descends to the rhododendron forests and the pine passing through the Tarkeghyang settlements where we can visit the ancient Buddhist monasteries and the theatrical Sherpa villages. These villages are filled with the cheerful and amiable people. We then stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

On the twelfth day, we head out from Tarkeghyang and then make further needed steps to our designation that is Sermathang which will take about five hours of walking. We will get to the particular designation in the afternoon and then we will stay there for the night.

On Day 13, we will prepare to reach Kathmandu from Sermanthang through a descent down to Melamchi Bazaar at 870 meters. We will be walking for about four hours and head through the bus for two hours until we reach Kathmandu.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

Except for you to be fit and healthy, there remains no requirement of a pre-experience.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Before we reach out for the trails of Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking, we have to be a part of a meeting regularly known as Pre-Trip meeting done within the first initial days in the city.

Equipment Check List:

To make an easy way of packing for you, we have enlisted some equipment which might come in proper use. Just don’t forget to maintain them under 20 kg;

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Feet: - lightweight thin inner socks - Thick, warm wool hiking socks - Hiking boots with spare laces - Camp shoes – Gaiters (optional)

Upper Body:-

As for the upper body’s shirts – Hiking and light weight thermal tops - Fleece jacket or pullover - Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional) - Waterproof shell jacket - Down vest and/or jacket - Base layer shirts - Warm jacket (down)*

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Accessories:-

Sleeping bag (comfort rated –10ºC)*- Sleeping bag liner - Head torch with spare bulbs and batteries - Small pad or combination.

Trekking Bags: - Large bag for keeping items dry inside trek bag, Daypack 250 to 30litres. - Thermarest sleeping pad - Water bottles - Water purification tablets.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

Toiletries:- 1 medium sized quick drying towel - Tooth brush/paste - Multipurpose soap - Deodorants - Nail clippers - Face and body moisturizer - Feminine products - Small mirror - Wet wipes - toilet roll/Tissue Extras - Antibacterial hand wash

A typical day:

You are woken up pretty early so that you won’t miss anything on the morning’s scenario along with a delicious set of breakfast. Then we pack and move out. Leading to the new place, we have lunch in the middle of the trek and with further energy, get along the trails for other some hours. In the afternoon, we reach the destination and make ourselves comfortable for the night’s sleep.

Accommodation:

When you are in the Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek, you won’t be surrounded with many options for accommodations. So it is better for us to remain ready and prepared for that.

Insurance:

Nepal nomad clearly requires you to have proper form of medical insurance, trip cancellation insurance and emergency evacuation insurance for joining the Ganja La Pass trek.

Altitude Sickness:

We have maintained the days for rest, exploration, exercise and acclimatization for tackling with the normally occurring risk of altitude sickness.

Meals:

On Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking, three meals on full board basis will be served and supplied on time, in three different times of the day, every day.
