On the first day of your arrival, our representative with our office vehicle will be on a standby .After you are transferred to the hotel a pre-trek briefing on the trekking program and any last minute arrangements will schedules. You will get familiar to the surroundings as you go down the streets for a walk. Then a delicious local Nepali dinner will be served accompanied by cultural dance performed by the local belles.

On this particular day, we explore around Kathmandu City and visit to the two world heritage sites. This includes a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people and as the famous Hindu temple across the country where you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. In the early afternoon you can relax to your hotel or do last minute shopping. Travelling by bus to Syabru Besi, it takes about 9 hrs to reach and by jeep in about 7- 8 hrs which gives an immense sight to the beautiful Syabru Besi. Passing through Dhunche, we head north out of the Kathmandu driving through scenic rolling hills of Syabru Besi. We will be enclosed by the majestic sights of the green hills, terraces, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. We will be staying overnight at the accommodation.

It takes about 5 hrs to reach to the Lama Hotel where in the beginning we pass through the BhoteKoshi River following the Langtang Khola. The path then progressively ascends to the Bamboo. Based on the bank of the Langtang Khola, we hike towards the Rimche and have afternoon lunch at the accommodation. After trekking for about 45 mins from the Rimche we ultimately reach at the Lama Hotel and stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

The path is very direct today after travelling for about 2 hrs, we finally arrive at the Gomna passing the oak forest and rhododendron and from there we will take a walk with the uphill path to the designation of the Ghodatabela in about an hour. Then we pass to the Thangsep village which has mostly Tamang natives and we will then reach at the Langtang village where we will stay for an overnight at the accommodation at the Langtang.

Out from the Langtang village, we will head to the Kyanjin Gompa today and it takes about 3 hrs to reach there. From the Kyangjing Gompa we get to see the beautiful sight of the Langtang mountain range which comprise of the Langtang Lirung, Naya Khang, Ghanjala Himal etc. We will be staying on an overnight at the accommodation.

Today is day 7, where we will stroll around the Kyangjing Gompa and stay for the acclimatization and get to know our surrounding better. We can go to the cheese factory or visit the monastery glaciers of the Himalayan range of the Langtang and then head back to the Kyangjing Gompa and stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

On our path, we cannot see any lodge and people’s residence on the path. The path ascends higher into the Himalayas which is comprised with the natural vegetation. Today is easy trekking compared to others and we trek for about 6 hrs and then see the pure natural beauty and the thrilling peaks. We will stay for an overnight at the camp

Today is will undoubtedly be an exhausting day to pass the Ganja La Pass which is over the 5200 meters. Throughout the years, Ganja La Pass is covered with the entire ice and snow in the most times. You must be fit enough to carry water, must be well equipped and stock yourself with the energetic foods. Before the sun gets too high we cross the Ganja La Pass in the early morning to start. You have to make sure to breathe and are unquestionably the challenging trekking days which is about 9 hrs to 16km. The trail then goes downhill to the stream and we ultimately arrive at the Keldang (4280m) where we will stay for an overnight at the camp.

With the spectacular sight of the mountains, lengthy walk along the crest, grassland we take a walk about 7 hrs to Dukpu where we will set our camp and stay for an overnight.

Today we ascend up to the 4100 meter pass. We are surrounded by the beauty of the Everest Mountains and the Annapurna Region as well as the other mountain regions. The path descends to the rhododendron forests and the pine passing through the Tarkeghyang settlements where we can visit the ancient Buddhist monasteries and the theatrical Sherpa villages. These villages are filled with the cheerful and amiable people. We then stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

Out from the Tarkeghyang, today we head to our designation to the Sermathang which takes about 5 hrs of trekking after an early breakfast. In the late afternoon we will reach to the designation and then we will be staying at the accommodation in the afternoon.

From the Sermathang, we gradually descent to the Melamchi Bazaar which is at the altitude of about 870m and then head towards to the Kathmandu which is then later takes about 4 hrs more of the trekking and then 2 hrs of bus then we finally reach at the Kathmandu where we will stay for an overnight.

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekkingas well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipment’s check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.


For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the overnight. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well-deserved night.


While at the Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekkingtend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.


Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekkingincludes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekkingis designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.


On Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
