Itinerary

The third day includes the hiking or trekking of only about three hours. However, first of all, we catch the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and after the proper placement of our backpacks after a 35 minutes long flight, we head to Phakding situated at an elevation of 2,652 meters. There we rest for the night.

The Hiking begins to start from Phakding and then to Manjo where we have our lunch then the entrance of the National Park before we come across the Dudh Koshi to Jorsale 2805m. The trek proceeds upstream on flat terrain to the junction of the Dudh Koshi and the Bhote Koshi rivers. We then begin a steep ascent to Namche. Then, we cross the suspension bridge as we pace to reach Namche. Enjoying the glimpse of mountain peaks like Lhotse, Taweche, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Everest, we get some wonderful photo opportunities.

To allow proper acclimatization, we stay at Namche for another night in order to prepare our bones for the higher heights. Today we suggest you grab the opportunity to see the magical sunrise and sunset from the National Park Headquarters which is above the village. The view is marvelous. After breakfast, we have a number of choices: We can explore more of the area through Hikes to Khumjung and the lovely discovery of the Everest View Hotel.

The route encircles Khumbilya’s downward slopes as we make way across the grassy slopes towards a stupa which is above a rocky top at Mongla, connecting to the pretty birch forest. The beautiful view of the village, the wall of which looks like the patchwork of stones field has to be Phortse at 3,840m which is the highest elevation we reach on this trek. We switch back routes to the Dudh Koshi River pathway and then head 300m below at the bridge of Phortse. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River, we climb to Phortse village for a rest.

On the seventh day, we start the trek from Phortse to reach Tengboche through the beautiful village of Pangboche. The trekking hours depend upon our pace which can range from three hours to five. We move down the hill to the pathway of Imja Khola, then ascending to Tengboche at 3,860m which is the highest elevation we reach on this trek. The beautiful area of Tengboche with the famous Tengboche Monastery invites us with warmth for the night’s rest.

On the eighth day, after an early breakfast, we retrace our steps back to Namche Bazaar from the amazing stay at Tengboche. We move down the hill enjoying the path lined with the gorgeous rhododendron, juniper, and fir forest to Phunkitenga. We then take a short break to have a cup of tea after which we pass the Dudh Koshi and ascend Trashinga. We reach Namche for Lunch through the crossing of various villages. Then we head for Monjo at 3,446m for overnight rest.

On the ninth day, we make our final trek to Lukla. With some ups and downs, the day’s trek can be comparatively easier than the last day on which we will be trekking. After around three hours of walk, we reach Lukla at 2800 meters and enjoy our final day and night at Everest.

With the plan to avoid harsh weather, we catch our flight to Kathmandu in the early morning which will be a very short flight of about thirty-five minutes. You will be safely and comfortably moved to the accommodation while being welcomed for dinner.

Experience and Insurance Required

For a better ability to deal with obstacles, it is better to have hiking, walking, or trekking experiences in the mountain sections. You are required to have sound health and be physically fit to undertake the adventure without any extra problems other than the inevitable ones.

Insurance: We take our insurance policy very seriously. Thus, we need you to be insured on a medical basis as well as on the trip cancellation aspects along with emergency rescue evacuation insurance as per our booking terms and conditions.

A typical day in the Glimpse of Everest Hike

A typical day of a mountain adventure begins in one accommodation and ends in another. You will start the day very early with a warm cup of coffee or tea. Then you continue the day by packing your stuff and heading for another day’s adventure through the amazing trails of the Himalayas. After some hours of walk, you will be resting in a favorable place and have your lunch there. With enough rest, you get back up and head for the final destination

The lodging options may not be adequate in amount and for that, you need to maintain the nature of the adjustment. You will need to make little compromises as luxurious facilities are hard to find in the region of higher altitudes. You will be sharing a bathroom as well as shower facilities. So we stay and acclimatize through short walks and hikes at various spots to avoid any kind of risk of altitude sicknesses like the Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), and High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE). If unfortunately, someone gets it, they will be headed down to a safe spot of lower elevation. In case of an emergency, evacuation will be conducted as per the insurance policy.
