On the first day of your arrival, our representative with our office vehicle will be on a standby .After you are transferred to the hotel a pre-trek briefing on the trekking program and any last minute arrangements will schedules. You will get familiar to the surroundings as you go down the streets for a walk. Then a delicious local Nepali dinner will be served accompanied by cultural dance performed by the local belles

On this particular day, we explore around Kathmandu City and visit to the two world heritage sites. This includes a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa known for its unique structure and as the biggest shrines in the world. For a more lighthearted day, a visit to Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River which is considered as a home to the hundreds of thousands Hindus people and as the famous Hindu temple across the country where you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. In the early afternoon you can relax to your hotel or do last minute shopping. Travelling by bus to Syabru Besi, it takes about 9 hrs to reach and by jeep in about 7- 8 hrs which gives an immense sight to the beautiful Syabru Besi. Passing through Dhunche, we head north out of the Kathmandu driving through scenic rolling hills of Syabru Besi. We will be enclosed by the majestic sights of the green hills, terraces, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. We will be staying overnight at the accommodation.

It takes about 5 hrs to reach to the Lama Hotel where in the beginning we pass through the BhoteKoshi River following the Langtang Khola. The path then progressively ascends to the Bamboo. Based on the bank of the Langtang Khola, we hike towards the Rimche and have afternoon lunch at the accommodation. After trekking for about 45 mins from the Rimche we ultimately reach at the Lama Hotel and stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

The path is very direct today after travelling for about 2 hrs, we finally arrive at the Gomna passing the oak forest and rhododendron and from there we will take a walk with the uphill path to the designation of the Ghodatabela in about an hour. Then we pass to the Thangsep village which has mostly Tamang natives and we will then reach at the Langtang village where we will stay for an overnight at the accommodation at the Langtang.

Out from the Langtang village, we will head to the Kyanjin Gompa today and it takes about 3 hrs to reach there. From the Kyangjing Gompa we get to see the beautiful sight of the Langtang mountain range which comprise of the Langtang Lirung, Naya Khang, Ghanjala Himal etc. We will be staying on an overnight at the accommodation

Today is day 7, where we will stroll around the Kyangjing Gompa and stay for the acclimatization and get to know our surrounding better. We can go to the cheese factory or visit the monastery glaciers of the Himalayan range of the Langtang and then head back to the Kyangjing Gompa and stay for an overnight at the accommodation.

Today we descend back to the Lama Hotel and the duration to reach back to the Lama Hotel is about 5 – 6 hrs. We will have our lunch and progress the descent to the Lama Hotel and stay for an overnight at the accommodation

Today we begin our trek to Thulo Syabru out from the Lama Hotel as we take steep ascent travel, we progress our travel to the pine forests and the rhododendron cluster. We then ultimately reach to the Thulo Syabru descending from the forest through the Pairo. We might get chance to see some wild lives including red pandas, Himalayan Black Bears, Langur monkeys etc. We stay for an overnight at the tea house at the Thulo Syabru.

It takes about six hours to reach at the Sing Gomba from the Thulo Syabru. Today we visit an ancient monastery in the area where we get to learn and understand more Buddhist Culture at the Sing Gomba which has an altitude of about 3330m. It takes about 6 hrs to reach to this place from the Thulo Syabru by walking.

Out from the Sing Gomba, we ascend progressively to the Gosaikunda Lake which has the altitude of about 4380m. It takes about 5 hrs to reach there out from the monastery as we head out to the gorgeous Gosaikunda Lake. The trail winds up with the elevation gain above 4000 meters from the sea level. The path brings us closer to the astounding destinations from the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and the Langtang range. We ultimately reach to the Gosaikunda which is one of the sacred pilgrimage sites for the Hindus. We forget the high altitude when we reach to this amazing atmosphere.

Out from the Gosaikunda Lake, we descend down to the Tharepati which winds to the 7 hrs of trek to the rough path. The trek head down through the rhododendron forests and melamchigaun village.

From the Tharepati, we will head to the Tarkeghyang which is at the altitude of about 2600m. With the six hours of trekking we will reach to the place. The path unwinds through beautiful lush green forest and then amazing sight of the place. We will stay for an overnight at the Tarkeghyang.

Out from the Tarkeghyang, today we head to our designation to the Sermathang which takes about 5 hrs of trekking after an early breakfast. In the late afternoon we will reach to the designation and then we will be staying at the accommodation in the afternoon.

From the Sermathang, we gradually descent to the Melamchi Bazaar which is at the altitude of about 870m and then head towards to the Kathmandu which is then later takes about 4 hrs more of the trekking and then 2 hrs of bus then we finally reach at the Kathmandu where we will stay for an overnight.

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekking. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekking, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekkingas well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipment’s check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the overnight. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well-deserved night.


While at the Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekking, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekkingtend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Helambu Trekkingis designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands.
