The amazing 24 days Larke Peak climbing introduces you to the remote trails which will carry you further into the wondrous Manaslu region filled with the graceful existence of turbulent river gorges, old Buddhist Monasteries like Samagaon monastery and many other incredible wonders. On the very first day of this amazing Larke trekking and climbing holiday, our team member will pick you up from the airport in a private vehicle and escort you all the way to your accommodations. As you get refreshed through short walks around the city, a Nepali Cuisine Dinner will be waiting for you which will be served with great hospitality. In the evening, we will conduct short discussions about our upcoming journey.

You will be spending your second day in Kathmandu known as the city of temples. After having breakfast, our tour guide will take you for sightseeing and will escort you around the beautiful existence of the city. You will be visiting various heritage sites, some of which are even listed in the world heritage like Bouddhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath and some other amazing heritages. You can even try some local ingredients of the city while you are here. Later in the evening, we will need to be prepared for the journey for which we will have some discussions where all your queries will be answered. We will be staying overnight in Kathmandu.

After having an early morning breakfast, we will hop in a private vehicle and drive towards Seti Khola. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach an elevation of 775 meters. Arughat Bazaar will fall on the and lead our way further towards Seti Khola. We will be settling our camp around the banks of the beautiful river.

On the fourth day, finally we start our walk from Soti Khola after having an early morning breakfast. We will be heading for Machha Khola from Soti which is likely to take us about six hours to reach. We will be facing some descents which will again lead to a climb towards Almara. Along the way we will be moving through beautiful forest which will be taking us to the beautiful village of Riden. We will be staying overnight around the banks of Machha Khola where we will be camping for the night.

Today, we will be making our way towards Jagat which is situated at an elevation of 1,340 meters. It will take us about six hours to reach there. We will be crossing the gracious Machha River and Khorla Besi where we will spot a hot spring known as “Tatopani”. Along the way, we will be reaching a permit checking point where our Permit will be checked. We will be staying overnight at jagat.

Today, we will be leaving Jagat after an early morning breakfast and head for Ngyak which is situated at an elevation of 2310 meters. It will take us about seven hours to reach there. We will be ascending the Saguleri which will be offering us with a gratifying view of Sringi Himal which is situated at an altitude of 7,177 meters. Along the way, we will be entering the Gandaki Valley. We will be staying overnight at Ngyak.

From Ngyak, we will leave early in the morning for Ghap. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach an elevation of 2100 meters. We will be following the trails led by the beautiful Deng river which will introduce us to a beautiful existence of a tiny village formed of only 4 houses. We will be staying overnight at Ghap in our tented Camp.

On the eight day, we will be heading for Lho which is situated at an elevation of 3200 meters. We will be crossing the Budhi Gandaki river by using the wooden bridge laid over it. We will be again going past a police check post where our permit might be asked or checked. Along the way, we will be rewarded with the views of Naike Peak, Manaslu and Manaslu North. We will be settling out camp after reaching Lho where we will be staying for the night.

From Lho, we will further make our way towards Samagaon which is a beautiful village situated at an elevation of 3,500 meters. We will be passing through the area of beautifully settled Mani stones which will indeed refresh us in some way. In order to observe the close view of Mt. Manaslu, we will have to do a short hike to Pungen Glacier. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach Samagaon. We will stay overnight at Samagaon on our tented Camp.

On the tenth day, our camping destination will be Samdo. We will be leaving Samagaon after having an early morning breakfast and head for Samdo which is situated at an elevation of 4500 meters. It is likely to take us five hours to get there. We will be settling our camp at Samdo and stay there for the night.

The eleventh day of our amazing adventure has been separated for resting purpose which will be used for acclimatization. You can use the opportunity to explore the beautiful existence of Samdo and do some hikes towards its outskirts.

On the twelfth day, we will be heading for Larke Bazar which is the Base Camp of Larke Peak and is also known by the name of Dharmasala. The Larke Peak Base Camp is situated at an elevation of 4,460 meters which is likely to take us about five hours to reach. Larke Peak Base Camp is our camping destination for the day where we will be staying for the night.

Today, we will be heading for the advance Base camp of Larke Peak which is situated at an altitude of 5,480 meters. We will leave Larke peak base camp after having an early morning breakfast at the Base Camp and then conduct a walk for about six hours to reach the camping destinations. Our guides and climbing experts will be settling all the required climbing equipment for the next day summit. We will be staying overnight at the advance Base Camp.

Since, in higher altitude, the weather is kind of unpredictable and can change its pattern in any form and at any time, we separate the thirteenth day for contingency purpose. It requires us to be flexible with outr summiting plan as we cannot ascend the peak if the weather is too rough and there are higher risks involved.

Finally on the fifteenth day, we start ascending the Larke Peak. However, it is obvious that our plan depends upon the weather condition but with favorable conditions, we will summit the peak with the help of our climbing expert who will guide you all the way to the top. We will be beginning the climb very early in the morning because on the same day we will be heading back to the Larke Peak Base Camp. Reaching to the top of an elevation of 6,249 meters is indeed going to be a proud moment for you and certainly deserves some celebration. We will be staying overnight at the Larke Peak Base Camp.

Today, we will be heading for Bhimthang which is situated at an elevation of 3,590 meters. We will be ascending to Larkya La Pass situated at an altitude of 5,215 meters which is likely to reward us with the extraordinary views of mountain peaks like Himlung Himal, Annapurna II, Gyagi Kung and some other incredible snowcapped peaks. Though the ascent might be a little challenging, it is equally rewarding as well. We will be staying overnight at Bhimthang which will take us about 8 hours to reach.

On the seventeenth day, we leave Bhimthang after having an early morning breakfast and head towards Tilje situated at an altitude of 3900 meters. It is likely to take us about five hours to reach Tilje which is our camping destination for the night. We will be moving through paddy fields and even cross the Karcha La pass which leads us to a beautiful forest filled with rhododendrons, on our way to Tilje. We will be staying overnight at Tilje.

We will be heading for Tal on the eighteenth day of our climbing and trekking journey. We will be leaving Tilje after having an early morning breakfast and walk for about five hours to reach Tal. Marshyangdi River will lead our way at some points. We will be staying overnight at Tal village.

Today, from Tal, we will head for Jagat after an early morning breakfast. It is likely to take us about five hours to reach our camping destination for the day which is situated at an elevation of 1400 meters. We will be encountered with the village of Chamje along the way with the introduction to Himal Pani as well. We will be staying overnight at Jagat

Today, we will be moving towards Baundada after having a warm breakfast at Jagat. It is likely to take us about five hours to reach an altitude of 1,275 meters which is our camping destination. We will be making our way through Sanjee Village. However, we will be staying overnight at the village of Baundada.

Our Twenty-first day takes us to Beshisahar from Baundanda through a walk of five hours. Beshisahar marks the end of our trek. We will be staying overnight at Beshisahar before heading back to Kathmandu the next day.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Larke Peak Climbing. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak. Altitude may range up to 6000 meters.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Larke Peak Climbing, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Larke Peak Climbing as well as introduce you to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Feet: - lightweight thin inner socks - Thick, warm wool hiking socks - Hiking boots with spare laces - Camp shoes – Gaiters (optional)

Upper Body:-

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Larke Peak Climbing, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in Larke Peak climbing tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Larke Peak Climbing includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Larke Peak Climbing is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Larke Peak Climbing, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
