Pokalde Peak Climbing 5806m is situated 12km southwest of the Mt.Everest, and also known as the Dolma Ri. It is the easiest and one of the shortest hiking peaks in the Everest Region. Welcome to Kathmandu! Nepal. After you reach airport one of our company representative will be there to pick you up and drive to your hotel. After reaching hotel you can freshen up and take a walk around nearby streets. After some refreshment we will hold a meeting wherever you feel comfortable. In our meeting we will discuss about your trip and also introduce to your mountain guide. You can take this chance to ask questions or any other details related with the trip.

Today we will gather after having a breakfast and go on a sightseeing program. Today our whole day will be used exploring the Kathmandu. We will be exploring some hstupa and religious sites which includes Bouddhanath Stupa, Pasupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Kathmandu durbar Square.

Today we will take flight to reach Lukla from Kathmandu. It takes about thirty five to forty minutes to reach Lukla. After fruitful landing, we will have the opportunity to explore the town while the Sherpa group sort out and load the trekking gear. Toward the evening, we start the trekking towards the DudhKosi River, where we join the fundamental path to Namche Bazaar, simply above Chaurikharka at 2713m. Today we start our trek from Phakding and head towards the Monjo. Our final destination will be Monjo. Today our trek will be little tough than yesterday because we will trek upward to the Namche Bazzar. Namche Bazaar is one the famous valley of Khumbu Region. Today is our acclimatization day where we stay at Namche Bazaar. Today you will give rest to your bodies for further trekking. We will also stroll around the Namche bazaar to see the people’s lifestyle, tradition and culture. You can also go hiking to Everest View Hotel where we will be able to see breathtaking and amazing view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and other numerous mountains.

You will start trekking by rising towards Syangboche and further, trek to Khumjung Village, which is encompassed by Mt. Kongde Ri (6,187 m) and Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m).You will slip towards Dudh Koshi River and go through Sherpa towns. Today from Dingboche we will trek towards the chukhung. On the way we will cross the Imja Khola Valley. The climb is dynamic as it crosses the little streams with the best sight of the island top at the leader of the valley with an open peaks pastures. Toward the evening we will reach at the Chukhung.

After early morning breakfast we ascend to the north, Lobuche Peak (6119m). Out from the Gorak Shep, we reach at the Pokalde Peak Base camp. It takes about 4-5 hours of trek to reach there at the base camp of the Pokalde Peak and today‘s trek is short. We hike a lot for today and admire the amazing experience of the trail at the Pokalde at an altitude of 5400m

Today is day 13 and we stay at the Pokalde Base Camp for the acclimatization and explore the base camp with the beautiful sight that accompanies us. Pokalde Base camp is located to the middle low to the Kongma La pass which is near to the huge circular lake. We stay for an overnight here and get properly acclimatize here

Today we ascend the beautiful Pokalde; the view is mesmerizing and from the high pass is unavoidable. The path brings us closer to the astonishing sight of AmaDablam, Cholatse, Lhotse, Nuptse and Makalu as well as other beautiful peaks in the Khumbu region. The trail eventually stops at the high camp of the beautiful Pokalde Peak with the company of the majestic mountain range in the Everest. We stay for an overnight at the Pokalde.

Out from the Pokalde Base camp on day we descend back to the Pheriche.Today, it is downhill most of the way, as we descend to Pheriche. It is quite interesting place to visit the Himalayan Rescue Association as this place has trekkers’ aid post. At a delicious lunch, we head to cross the KhumbuKhola which is on a wooden suspension bridge, and then we follow the way to Pheriche. The track is downward through the Lobuche to Pheriche where we can get a stunning sight of the silver mountain landscape of the gleam on the sunlight.

Today our trek is much simpler and faster and retraces our foot back to Dughla from Lobuche. We then take a distinct path to our climb which follows the wide alpine valley wrapped in scrub juniper over the temporary settlement of Phulung Karpo (4343m) and to the Pheriche in the evening. We across the Khumbu Khola from Pheriche and climb up hill to brief steep path to the above small crest for great sights of the Kantega, AmaDablam and Imja valley.

In the early morning after a delicious breakfast, we go downward to the dense and beautiful forest of rhododendron and juniper. Then after a cup of tea, we cross the Dudh Koshi and climb for the trek to Trashinga. From here our path goes to the valley with Shanasa and then a moderate walk to Namche bazaar where we take our lunch and go downhill to Monjo for overnight stay.

Today we will be our last trekking day, we will walk from the Monjo to Lukla. At that point we will have our dinner and toward the evening you are allowed to explore around or unwind or remain comfortable. Afterward, we will have a goodbye supper. Today early morning we will be ready to take the flight of Lukla to reach Kathmandu. If weather is not so good then we cannot guarantee the flight. After reaching the Kathmandu we will take to your Hotel.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

As Pokalde peak is of moderate level but still the good level of fitness is required. Also the mountain walking experience is required. There may be longer days due to the weather conditions and the altitude range up to more than 5000 meters so the trekker has to be prepared both physically and mentally.

Trip Meeting:

We will hold trip meeting before starting our trek. In this meeting you will be introduced to your climbing guide and other members that will be going with you. It is also your chance to ask any questions related to the climbing trip.

Equipment Check List:

We have listed some of the equipments you will need while climbing the peak. And the must note thing is you should keep your equipment weight to minimum and your trekking bag should not weight more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For head you are required to bring: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

For lower body you are required to bring : Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

For Feet you are required to bring: lightweight thin inner socks - Thick, warm wool hiking socks - Hiking boots with spare laces - Camp shoes – Gaiters (optional)

Upper Body:-

As for the upper body you are required to bring: shirts – Hiking and light weight thermal tops - Fleece jacket or pullover - Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional) - Waterproof shell jacket - Down vest and/or jacket - Base layer shirts - Warm jacket (down)*

For hands the necessary things are: gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

As for typical day our Sherpa will bring you the morning tea or coffee at 6.30 am. After breakfast, you will be getting ready for the trekking which includes packing your bags and other necessary things. We will not be trekking for more than 5 to 8 hours per day.

Accommodation:

For the accommodation please do not expect anything more cause the places that we will be trekking is remote area and they only simple lodge with a cozy chimney burning fire. You may also have to share the rooms and bathrooms. Despite the absence of many facilities, these lodges positively have a provincial appeal, most are honored with breathtaking perspectives and being family run activities, they offer an incredible understanding into the everyday life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Our booking terms and states of joining Pokalde Peak Climbing Trek incorporate that you should be completely protected with medical, emergency rescue evacuations.

Altitude Sickness:

As altitude sickness occurs to those who are not used to high elevations so taking into considerations about all these things we have arranged all the medical facilities for acute mountain sickness and managed acclimatization day. Some of the ordinary symptoms that may occur are headache, uneven breathing, vomiting, sleeplessness and the swelling of fingers and glands.
