Welcome to Kathmandu! You are moved to the warmth of you hotel. On your routine a pre- trek briefing will be scheduled for the discussion of the trekking program and we co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. You can get accustomed with your surroundings by going for hike down the street. Then we head to the street for the delicious dinner where Nepalese Cuisine is prepared in Nepalese Style which is mainly known for its healthy ingredients. This is your first overnight in Kathmandu.

The day begins with an early breakfast with a guided trip to the capital city Kathmandu. Jumla is one of the remote and less created Karnali areas of Nepal. You'll go through an entire day exploring this unfamiliar spot for the acclimatization reason. Today is the main start day of our trek. We leave Jumla and rise to Chere Chaur along the Jugad Khola. After early morning breakfast we'll begin your trek from Jumla to Chere Chaur (3,055 meters). Today is first day of the trek so you have to gradually rise and drink a lot of water. While in transit to Chere Chaur, you'll pass Khalanga Bazaar, a little commercial center. USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and walking is required for the Rara Circuit Trekking. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Ganesh Himal Trekking, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Rara Circuit Trekking as well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipment’s check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the overnight. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well-deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Rara Circuit Trekking, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in Rara Circuit Trekking tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Rara Circuit Trekking includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Rara Circuit Trekking is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

On Rara Circuit Trekking, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins).
