You land in the airport and then get greeted by our office representative who had been waiting for your arrival. Then with the safe placement of your luggage, you will be taken to the hotel where your residence is booked at. Then, a Pre-trip meeting awaits you in the afternoon along with a warm set of Welcome dinner.

While we prepare for the permits and other aspects, you can move for exploring the city at its best while conducting some required shopping as well. Our guide will be there to help you for the ease of the day. You can enjoy the existence of Bouddhanath, Swayambhunath, Patan and Basantapur Durbar Squares and others. You will again be attending a short meeting at the day’s end.

Today, from Kathmadu, we take an early flight to Tumlingtar and then from there we will begin our driving journey where we drive to Num via Khandbari for the 5 hrs which has the altitude of about 1490m where we spent tonight.

After 5 hrs of descending and trekking to the steep trail which is rocky with the view of tiny terraced farms of barley and corn we ascend to the Seduwa which has the altitude of about 1493m and stay for an overnight there.

By passing through few streams and the large grasslands we ascend to the Tashi Gaun which is the Sherpa village and the ultimate settlement of the valley after 4 hrs trekking at the altitude of 2050m.

Proceeding with the rockfall, we head to the Khongmala after 5-6 hrs of trekking out from the Tashi Gaun.

After an early breakfast, we head to see the beautiful morning sunrise sight and then after 6 hrs of hike passing through ultimate pond with progressive trek to downhill we then reach at Mumbuk which lies in the center of forests.

We proceed our trek and then ascend to the hill where we will stop for lunch and then head toward to Yajila Kharka where we will stay for an overnight after 6 hrs in total of trekking.

We descend to and through the deep forest which is steep for about 6 hrs where we will reach at the Yangle Kharka as we spend our night here.

After 5-6 hrs of trekking, we head towards the kharka Merak, where we stay there and then relish the beautiful sight of the Mt.Makalu which can be seen from here.

Our destination for today is the Makalu Base Camp which is at the altitude of about 4500m from the camp we can see the majestic Makalu which is known to be highest sixth peaks that is enclosed by the mighty peaks.

Since we have enough time, we discover the viewpoints and get acclimatized at the Makalu Base camp for acclimatization as we get to view the majestic Mt.Makalu and Barun.

After 5-6 hrs of trekking along the melted river side we hike through the gravel trail and then finally reach at the high camp or kuna camp and is also called as the Puja camp where we stay for an overnight.

Out from the Kuna Camp, we pack up for the hike to get the trek started to advance high camp, we must take our pace as we climb uphill as the altitude is revolutionary. We might suffer from the altitude sickness if we do not take sufficient breaks at the high terrain.

Today is day 17, as we head to the Barutse Base camp out from the advance high camp. The walk is progressive as we are accompanied by the best views.

Today we will be heading to the Panch Pokhari as we trek for around 5 hours with the couples of ascends and descends. Panch Pokhari refers to the five lakes. It is a holy lake and is significant to the pilgrimage sites as we stay there for an overnight near one of the lakes.

Leading on to the glacier, it takes about an hour to the narrow crest as we cross the gully above the camp the trail. The most interesting part of the climb starts with the glacier crossing as it is the time to rope –up and then put on our crampons. The slope leads on to the summit ridge. There are more picturesque mountain sights as the crest is beautifully fresh as we reach at Chhukung after 6 hrs trekking.

Day 20 leads us following the Imja Khola which will connect us with the beautiful Dingboche. Then we further make some ascend and cross the River while relishing some great views of the valley and mountains like Ama Dablam. We then, after the total of six hours of walk, finally reach Tengboche at 3,875 meters.

After an early breakfast, we head descending thoroughly to the greenery and the beautiful forests of rhododendron and juniper then fir to Phunkitenga. After a break, we then take a cup of tea and come across Dudh Koshi and climb upward to the Trashinga. Afterward, the path outlines the upward valley through Shanasa and takes a walk Namche Bazaar where we will have our lunch then we go downhill to Monjo for an overnight stay.

Today is our last day of trekking. It’s only a brief walk along the valley before we make am ultimate hike up to the airstrip at Lukla. We’ll have lunch at our lodge and the afternoon is free for you to wander around, relax or perhaps have a hot shower which is the best thing to do after a trek of this kind! In the evening, we’ll have a farewell dinner followed by a little celebratory drink.

Day twenty-three takes us away from the region through an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, the valley where it all began. It will be an amazing flight with gorgeous scenarios.

Experience Required:

  • Good level of fitness along with healthy body conditions
  • Some sort of hiking experience is better to have for ease

Pre-Trip Meeting:

The meeting that is hosted by our team before the beginning of the whole adventure is regarded as the Pre-Trip meeting, taking place in the initial phase of Kathmandu stay.

Equipment Check List:

The following equipment as important for a sound trekking experience with them being properly under 20 kg and no more;

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Feet: - lightweight thin inner socks - Thick, warm wool hiking socks - Hiking boots with spare laces - Camp shoes – Gaiters (optional)

Upper Body:-

As for the upper body’s shirts – Hiking and light weight thermal tops - Fleece jacket or pullover - Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional) - Waterproof shell jacket - Down vest and/or jacket - Base layer shirts - Warm jacket (down)*

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

A typical day:

A normal day begins with breakfast, then packing and preparation followed by leaving the accommodation. We have lunch on the way and some rest and then again enjoy the curving of trails connecting us to another destination where we have dinner and stay for sleep.

Accommodation:

While at the Makalu Sherpani Col High Pass Trekking, lodging choices are minimum, so we need to be comfortable with whatever is available. You need to be ready to share some basic bathroom and shower facilities as well.

Insurance:

Altitude Sickness:
