Tent Peak Climbing

Trip Overview

Tharpu Chuli or Tent Peak (5,663m) is to be found on top of the Annapurna gorge straight opposite  to one of the most recognisable peaks in the globe; Machhupuchare. Tharpu Chuli is from time to time referred to as 'Tent Peak' due to its shape. The mountain is simply accessed from Annapurna Base Camp and it can be climbed in one and half week. The direction we climb is the North West Ridge, which provide snow and ice difficulty, but more continued than Island Peak. If you are looking for a tiny Himalayan knock in the heart of the Annapurnas, connect us on what promises to be a spectacular expedition.
From Kathmandu, you get an afternoon flight to Pokhara or early morning drive and embark on your trek the next day keen on the Annapurna Sanctuary. Rather than trekking into the Sanctuary via shorter route, we choose a longer route, which provides an improved ascent profile and acclimatisation. From Poon Hill, you can take pleasure in the renowned views of the Annapurna range and of Dhaulagiri. Once you are at Annapurna Base Camp, you expend some time acclimatising additional ahead of next to the glacial moraine to Tharpu Chuli Base Camp. An additional elevated camp is used at 5,000m. From high camp the path crosses the glacier and climbs a snow slope to reach the North West Ridge. The rim, which is extensive at initial, becomes blade edge for the final 50m to 60m the summit. The view from the top are some of the supreme in the Himalaya.
During our trekking and climbing endeavour, we eyewitness a diversity of landscape rambling transversely sub-tropical forest, terraced rice paddies, pleasurable ridges, grassy farmland and forests of bamboo and rhododendron. On our come back from the Sanctuary, the track follows a different route, turning eastwards to follow a high ridge which eventually leads to Dhampus.
