After your flight landing, our team member will receive you from the airport and then escort you to your accommodations. Then, you can get refreshed and take some time out to stroll around the beautiful streets of Thamel and Basantapur. Later in the evening we will have brief trip discussions and then an amazing Nepali cuisine dinner will be served to you with a great hospitality.

On our second day of the amazing journey in Nepal, we will be preparing for the upcoming adventure with all the necessary essentials. And we will be seizing the opportunity by going for sightseeing in the beautiful city of Kathmandu which is a home for various heritage gems existing with great historical integrity. Our guide will escort you around various heritage sites, some of which are even enlisted in the world heritage site list of UNESCO. However, after all the joyful visits, you will be required to be all prepared for the upcoming trekking adventure. We will be staying overnight in Kathmandu.

Today, we will be heading for Dharapani through an exciting drive which will take us all the way to 1,860 meters within eleven to twelve hours. We will be passing through the beautiful town of Besisahar along the way. It will indeed be an incredible driver as we will be witnessing some amazing landscape formations and snowcapped mountain peaks. We will be staying overnight at Dharapani

From Dharapani, we will be leaving for Chame after having an early morning breakfast at Dharapani. We will be heading to reach an altitude of 2,715 meters which is likely to take us about six hours to reach. Along the way, we will be moving through dense forest filled with blooming rhododendrons. Magical waterfalls which we encounter along the path are certain to wash our tiredness away. We will be staying at Chame for the night.

On the sixth day, we leave Chame after energizing ourselves with a warm breakfast and make our way towards Pisang which is situated at an altitude of 3,185 meters. It is likely to take us about five hours to reach Pisang from Chame. We will be moving through the trails of a narrow river valley which will lead us through deep forest of pines, conifers and rhododendrons. We will be staying overnight at Pisang.

Today, we will be extending our steps toward Manang from Pisang after having our early morning breakfast. We will conduct a walk for about five hours to reach Manang situated at an elevation of 3,350 meters. Today, we have a choice of two routes which will ultimately lead to Manang. However, you will be encountered with the glorious sight of Annapurna Mountain from any route.

The eight day has been selected for acclimatization and resting purpose which is a must for adjusting with the altitude and avoiding any sort of health risks that come with the sudden change in elevations.

Today, our destination is going to be Khangsar Village which is filled with traditional Tibetan populations. We will leave for Khangsar Village after having an early morning breakfast at Manang. The day’s walk is rather short and will only take us about three hours to get to khangsar village which is situated at an elevation of 3,735 meters. We will be staying overnight at Khangsar Village.

From Khangsar Village, we will be extending our steps to reach the Tilicho Base Camp and here, our acclimatization will be of a great help as Tilicho Base Camp is situated at an extreme altitude of 4,150 meters. We will get various encounters of villages and monasteries along the way. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach the Base Camp where we will be camping for our overnight stay.

On the eleventh day, we will be conducting a short hike to Tilicho Lake which is one of the most beautiful lakes that one has ever laid their eyes upon. The beautiful serene existence of the blue water will certainly take your breath away and gather all your appreciations. On the same day, we will be heading back to the Tilicho Base Camp as there are no proper settlement areas and facilities around the Tilicho Lake area.

From Tilicho Lake, we will be reaching towards Ghunsa which is situated at an elevation of 3,950 meters. We will begin moving towards the Jarsang Khola Valley which will then lead us to Yak Kharka where we can spot yaks grazing graciously. Today, we will have an overnight stay at Ghunsa.

Today, our destination will be Thorong Phedi which we will be reaching within six hours of walk. We will be leaving Ghunsa after an early morning breakfast and start moving towards Thorong Phedi High Camp which is further at an elevation of 4,780 meters. We will be staying overnight at Thorong Phedi which is a tiny village existing near the beautiful Marsyangdi river.

On the fourteenth day, we will be crossing the amazing Thorong La Pass situated at an altitude of 5,416 meters which will further lead us to Muktinath after a descent of a few hours. We will be leaving Thorong Phedi early in the morning after having a wonderful breakfast. After reaching Muktinath, we can use the remaining time by exploring around the sacred place filled with values of religion and culture. We will be staying overnight at Muktinath

 From Muktinath, we will be descending down to Jomsom which is situated at an elevation of 2800 meters and is likely to take us about five hours to reach. We will be connecting the trek from Kali Gandaki valley lading all the way to Marpha which is famous for its production of apples. While you are at Marpha, it will be great if you get a taste of the locally made Apple Brandy. We will be staying overnight at Jomsom.

On the sixteenth day, we will be catching an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara to avoid any harsh weather conditions. It will indeed be a scenic flight as we fly above the beautiful clouds wnjoying the amazing snowcapped scenarios of the Annapurna Himalayas.

Today, we will be flying back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. However, if you want to, you can even head to Kathmandu on a driver which will slightly take more time. From Pokhara, it will take us about thirty minutes in a flight. You can use the remaining day in Kathmandu by exploring some unseen places of Kathmandu

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak. Altitude may range up to 6000 meters.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Tilicho Lake Thorong la pass trek, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village.
