Our team member will be there to pick you up at Tribhuvan international airport and escort you to your accommodation on the very first day. We take a flight of 45 minutes to Nepalgunj. This is situated between the Nepal- India borders and is one of the primary cities in the Mid-Western Region. Nepalgunj is also near one of the renowned Bardia National Park. Amazing cities like Hetauda, Bharatpur, Butwal, and Narayanghat can be visited during the Nepalgunj visit.

On day 4, we will fly to the Jumla which is at an altitude of 2370m, and hike to the Gothi Chaur 2700m. Out from the Nepalgunj, we will trek towards the Jumla where we will pass the Chaudabise Khola and cross a couple of villages and then precede our hike the maple forests and then descend down to the Gothi Chaur where we will stay for an overnight.

Today the hike will take us to the Naphukana where we will track the Tila Khola which is the field of various items like barley, potato, buckwheat. We will then cross the Chotra villages which are inclined towards the Tibetan Mani walls where we will come to reach the Tibetan villages where we will stay for an overnight.

Out from the Naphukhana, the path slowly becomes steeper as we ascend towards the Mauri forests where we can get some cold majestic north and east peaks. After that, we will then head downwards to the pine and oaks forest where we will ultimately reach the Bheri village and after that, we then reach the Chaurikot where we will stay for an overnight.

The path today takes us to the Bheri Riverside where we start with the Balasa village then descend as we reach into the lush forests of the trees of the walnut as we pass and then ultimately follow the rocky path as we head down to the Bheri Riverside where we will stay for an overnight.

Today we will follow the path with the west bank of the Bher River and cross over the Hurikot then we finally reach the Shey Phoksundo National Park entrance where we proceed our trek to the Jagdula Khola and the Garpung which connects to the Bheri River and then we will finally reach the Garpung where will stay for an overnight.

Today we will trek to the Kagmara where we continue our hike from the Garpung Khola we then ascend to the Kagmara Lake which is done for the adjustment as well as the acclimatization day where we will ascend more.

Today we start early morning and then head upward to the Kagmara Glacier to the Kagmara La where we can get a rare sight of the beautiful blue sheep after descending for a while we will then reach the Pungmo Lake Valley where we will spend our time.

The path reaches to the forests of the juniper and birch where one will reach the blue pine and then the one can relish the splendid sights of the Kanjiroba peaks where we reach the fortress village at the Pungmo.

Today we will trek to Phoksundo Lake which is a splendid lake where one gets to see the beautiful village and travel around before we go to the ancient monastery which is 900 years old where we will discover around and then descend around for a while. Phoksundo Lake is one of the sacred lakes for the Buddhists and is known for the beautiful sights of the scene where one can see amazing glaciers up and above the lake.

Today we are surrounded by the beauty of Phoksundo Lake with an amazing Kangmara peak as well as the magnificent landscapes within the lakeside as well as the beautiful Ringmo village.

Today we go for a walk in the morning where we take the path and ascend towards the Baga La which is at an altitude of 5090m then after 3 hours of the hike, we get to see amazing sights of the Kagmara peaks and the Phoksundo Lake and descend down to the Bagla where we will stay for an overnight.

Early morning we head to the progressive path where we will pass over the Baga La which is at the altitude of 5169m where we climb for about 3 hours and then to the top we will get amazing sights of the Phoksundo and trek to the Numa La Phedi downhill at the altitude of about 4800m.

Today we trek to cross Numa La which is another pass and one of the top adventures where we ascend for about three hours and then get interesting sights of the Dhaulagiri Mountain, we then head downhill to Dho which is at the altitude of 4100m where we stay for the time being.

Today we acclimatize at Dho Village where we will rest and get ourselves adjusted well at the higher altitude and rest. We will also visit the monasteries where we will do some brief walks and then get to know our local culture well. We will stay overnight at the Do Tarap.

Today we hike and head towards the Sandul Gompa where the monastery lies between the Tarap Chu River and the Barbung Khola where we will continue our trail and then head towards the rural village and the farm terraces where we will ascend and then descend and ultimately reach at the Lahini after 6-7 hours of the walk where we will stay for an overnight at the Lahini.

Early morning we head and cross through the tiny village town where the rivers take us to the Tarakot which is an ancient village with beautiful terraced farm fields. Tarakot village is mainly known for the old Sandul Gomba which is an ancient monastery where we will stay for an overnight nearby.

Today is the ultimate day that will take us to Dunai after an amazing time at Tarakot. We then take a brief drive to the Jhupal where the morning initiates with the beautiful trails with up and down ascends and descends. We head towards the ThuliBheri River for some lunch and finally from there the drive takes us to the Jhupal.

On day 22, we will trek to the Juphal where we will retrace our magnificent sights to the village, forests, and then the fields. Juphal is an amazing place where one will relish their mind. Juphal is at the altitude of 2500m and has many perks to travel.

Experience and Insurance Required for Lower Dolpo Trek

Fitness and good health are the key aspects for the successful undertaking of this trek. However, previous experience of trekking is not required for Lower Dolpo High Pass Trekking.For joining lower Dolpo trekking, Nepal Nomad requires you to be insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations, and trip cancellation insurance.

Prior to set off to lower Dolpo trekking, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in the Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduces your trek Leader.
