Welcome to Kathmandu! You are moved to the warmth of you hotel. On your routine a pre- trek briefing will be scheduled for the discussion of the trekking program and we co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. You can get accustomed with your surroundings by going for hike down the street. Then we head to the street for the delicious dinner where Nepalese Cuisine is prepared in Nepalese Style which is mainly known for its healthy ingredients. This is your first overnight in Kathmandu.

The day begins with an early breakfast with a guided trip to the capital city Kathmandu. The attractions in Kathmandu is sacred and historical where the landmarks estimated world heritage sites that includes the holy Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the ancient Durbar Square, the famous Monkey Temple and place of peace also known as Boudhanath. During afternoon we take a pre-trip preparation and discuss as well as get together with our trek guide and additional team members. The valley becomes steeper and narrower as the vegetation alternates to pine forests and rhododendron. Out from the village we come across a large suspension bridge and from here the route progresses steeply as the river tumbles through the maze of large boulders. Following the river valley in the afternoon we gradually ascend to Dharapani (1890m) and end our trek to get some rest.

From Dharapani you will be heading to one of the rugged venture to the Koto. The road can be difficult for the passengers but on the way you will be able to witness amazing sights. On the Annapurna Circuit trek route, you will be hiking where splendid waterfalls and the beautiful gorges can be seen. We will reach to Koto at dinner

Out from the Nar Phu Khola, we have a long distance to pass and then with the hiking route we shall go through the resting places, caves shelters. There is wide waterfall from the wood and after ascending we reach at Meta where we get an amazing view of the peaks. There is clean accommodation at Meta and a beautiful sight to see.

Of From Meta we take a walk to Kyang and reach for about three hours where we get to see an amazing sight of the Gyaji Kang, Tilicho Peak, Pissang Peak and Annapurna. We stay at the accommodation for the lunch at the Kyang

Trekking out of Kyang, beautiful Tibetan Buddhist chorten which are famous in Phu and Nar can be seen. You will get an amazing sight of the Nar Phedi monastery as you walk on the trail. You will reach a monolith that guards the path to Phu. You will get the sight of three villages as you cross the bridge into Phu

For an acclimatization day, we spend our time at Phu because of the high altitude. You can relish the beauty of alleyways which are tiny or even trek to Him lung Himal base camp. The day is well spend at Phu as you get to know villager and their daily chores like using mustard seed into a paste for oil. If you are planning to hike up to the Him lung then you will see the blue herd sheep which is ascending to the cliffs.

Out of Phu, we head to the Junam Goth which is surrounded by the beauty of the forests. Trekking in this region you will be into the forests of the juniper trees. We will arrive at Junam Goth in about 5 to 6 hrs of walking from Phu.

Descending to the bridge across the cleft at Phu Khola, we then take a steep and lengthy climb downhill to the Naar. We have to climb over 600m to the top, since the bridge is at 3490m. The remarkable sight of the Pisang Peak to the south can be seen. The terrain is less steep after you arrive at the Naar Gate and the scenes of the large chorten can be observed in the surroundings. It takes about 5 hrs to reach Naar from Junam Goth. People make living by weaving and agriculture at Naar

Kangla Phedi has to be the highest point of our trek for today as it is located on an old moraine 4700m. This area is above the tree line and you can get the sight of the beautiful Kanguru to the east and the Pisang Peak. The walk takes about 2 hours and mostly people leave exploring Naar.

Back with the known Annapurna Circuit, you will head toward the Kang La Pass. This is not a challenging pass however the altitude shall be felt. Amazing sights of the Tilicho Peak, Annapurna II and Gangapurna can be seen. Descending you will arrive for lunch and proceed to trek at Ngawal. Ngawal is an ancient village which is located on the upper Pisang route of the Annapurna Circuit.

From Ngawal, we head to Koto as Koto is the place for the lonely hamlets and accommodation. On the trail, the path is engraved with the splendid sights to accompany us from the Ngawal.

From Koto Tal descend back to the journey as Koto connects as a junction between the Nar Phu khola and the Marshyangdi Khola. We head back and get the scenic sight of the amazing rivers on the way and gradually appreciate the nature.

With the gorgeous backdrop of the towns, valleys, rivers and hill drive through the amazing highway. You will be moved to your hotel as you arrive to Kathmandu.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Experience Required:

A good level of fitness and experience of mountain walking is required for the Nar Phu Valley Trek. These tend to be longer treks with some more difficult days, some of which may involve walking at increased altitudes and more difficult terrain. Occasionally, there may be a longer day when negotiating the more challenging sections such as a mountain pass or viewing peak.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Prior to set off to Nar Phu Valley Trek, we host a Pre-Trip meeting here in Kathmandu office on the 2nd day of your itinerary which starts in the evening during the dinner and introduce your trek Leader. It is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about your Nar Phu Valley Trek as well as introduce yourself to one another.

Equipment Check List:

The specified basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Remember to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should not weigh more than 20 kg.

Head:-

For the head protection: Sun hat or scarf - Light balaclava or warm fleece hat - Sunglasses with UV protection.

Lower Body: -

Under Garments - Hiking shorts - Lightweight cotton long pants - Light weight hiking thermal bottoms - Fleece or wool pants – Waterproof trekking trousers -

Hands: - gloves that are Lightweight - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer.

Sleeping bag (comfort rated –10ºC)*- Sleeping bag liner - Head torch with spare bulbs and batteries - Small pad or combination.

Trekking Bags: - Large bag for keeping items dry inside trek bag, Daypack 250 to 30litres. - Thermarest sleeping pad - Water bottles - Water purification tablets.

Basic First Aid Kit: - Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), altitude (Diamox), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose tablets and multi-vitamin tablets are also a good idea.

Toiletries:- 1 medium sized quick drying towel - Tooth brush/paste - Multipurpose soap - Deodorants - Nail clippers - Face and body moisturizer - Feminine products - Small mirror - Wet wipes - toilet roll/Tissue Extras - Antibacterial hand wash

A typical day:

At 6.30 am your Sherpa knocks on your door with a cup of good morning tea. Time for the Breakfast, tight up your bag pack and head off for today's trekking hiking for the next three to four hours then at pleasant spot we shall stop for an hour along the way for a well-prepared hot lunch. Later, a walk another three hours or so before you stop for the over night. The evening can be spent reading or chatting with your fellow hikers or trekking crew about the trip of the day. An asset can be pack of games to these nights; your trekking crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Eventually, it's time to bed for a well deserved night.

Accommodation:

While at the Nar Phu Valley Trek, lodging options are limited so please do not expect the Ritz! Nepal Nomad utilizes simplistic family run lodges, with a large sociable central dining area and a cozy chimney burning fire. Lodges are on a twin share basis and we recommend you use your own sleeping bag. Accommodations in the Nar Phu Valley Trek tend to have shared bathroom facilities and you may not always have access to a shower. Regardless of the lack of facilities, these lodges certainly have a rustic charm, most are blessed with spectacular views and being family run operations, they offer a great insight into the daily life of the Mountain people.

Insurance:

Nepal Nomad's booking terms & conditions of joining Nar Phu Valley Trek includes that you must be fully insured with medical, emergency rescue evacuations including trip cancellation insurance which should cover over 3000m to 6000m.

Altitude Sickness:

Itinerary of the Nar Phu Valley Trek is designed to ensure that there is plenty of times for adequate occurs as a result of acclimatization and cases of mountain sickness are rare. The common Symptoms are headaches, nausea, irregular breathing, insomnia and the swelling of fingers and glands. Medical Treatment is to descend to a lower altitude as quickly as possible which normally results in rapid improvement and recovery.

Meals:

On Nar Phu Valley Trek, three meals on full board basis will be provided (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Chinese and Indian cousins). Every day dinner and breakfast will be placed and taken in the same lodge you spend over night but Lunch will be taken on your way to next village. Farewell dinner, breakfast and reception will be provided in Kathmandu.
